I've upgraded the battery in mine. Now it's nearly twice as long it goes than before. A worthwhile upgrade IMO. Bought it from Aliexpress.

What worries me most is that @Sennheiser hasn't deigned to reply since their last communication in this thread. I've asked them in private mail if my broke IE800S can be serviced, too, but no reply as of today.

I wonder if the IE800S and IE900 both use the same transducer?

Are there any tutorial videos out there about how can I replace the non-functioning transducer with a fresh one? Or it has to be done by a Sennheiser technician?

I tried Toslink on my Hugo2 for the hell of it. I have an LG 4k player with Toslink output and usb input so I've loaded all my music onto a USB stick and it sounds pleasant, to say the least. I actually am thinking of abandoning all the USB input for Toslink. I use a generic Toslink cable. One...
