Sold my much loved SU-6 yesterday, DI-20 arrives Thursday along with Precision 3 for my desktop speakers. Will look at a new dac once I have clocked 10 years or so on my M7. Which isn't that far away.

Picked up a sweet Master 19 on Saturday from a local headphone enthusiast. I have been eyeing the M9 for 6 or 7 years but it was either travel or gear. COVID has me stuck at home with no place to go and this M19 showed up at the perfect time. I guess it doesn't matter now but I'm kicking myself...

Sounds like you got a defective one. Don't pull your hair out (like I always do); you already have Kingwa's attention and he will sort it out. The only thing I could suggest is trying a different source PC just to be sure. But it doesn't sound like an issue with the source.

If you want to check your SU-6 on whether it will benefit from a better or different power supply just unplug the power input from the rear of the unit to see if it sounds different. The SU-6 will keep operating for close to a minute. Or remove the wall wart from the power receptacle plugging...

There is also the Master 19 to consider. If the cost of the Master 9 is a concern but you want to upgrade I would definitely go for the 19. Then you can tell us all about it too.
