24/96 Files?
oh and let me clarify, the above is not in any way a critizism of HD Traks, which I think has offered some great downloads. I don't now how HD Tracks is paying their artists or how they run their company.- peterBj

24/96 Files?
Quote: Well I don't know why they should be cheaper. It's actually more work, since they do have to convert them and store them next to their other resolutions, and since storage is a lot cheaper now than before, the cost of storage is not really an issue. And personally I like to have...- peterBj

Trying to hear the difference between 320 mp3 vs flac (16/24-bit, 44.1/88.2)
One thing that we musicians find gets better with age is our ability to hear chord changes and keys, that has probably to do with experience,I guess, and maybe that is the same in the above mentioned article and with discerning between mp3 and Flac. Experience.- peterBj

Trying to hear the difference between 320 mp3 vs flac (16/24-bit, 44.1/88.2)
Well well..... the reason for me listening to Paul Berner's ''Road to Memphis'' in 320mp3 and Flac for my little test, is of course that I know the sound of the album very well. 16.50 euro for a full album is hardly premium prices. And the reason we sell Waw files only is,so that you know...- peterBj

Trying to hear the difference between 320 mp3 vs flac (16/24-bit, 44.1/88.2)
No I am saying that we find, that there is a benefit with higher resolutions when we are recording a musical instrument. Afterwards, when we are ready with the mix you can compress it to various formats and it will sound great. We are selling Wav files only, from the 4 albums we have made so...- peterBj

24bit vs 16bit, the myth exploded!
no what I mean is we dont need to equalize as much when we are mixing the multitrack down to stereo. And we only sell our own recordings. No remasters. We just sell the Wav file as a one to one copy of the multitrack mixdown. So I dont know what you mean, dishonest? take a look at our site- peterBj

24/96 Files?
hi Skamp I think you quote me a bit out of context. I am talking about the recording process, i.e.multi track audio being recorded and mixed. That is were the benefit of i.e.24/96 resolution is to be gained. At the source. When recording in 24/96 we are at mix down using less...- peterBj

Trying to hear the difference between 320 mp3 vs flac (16/24-bit, 44.1/88.2)
I just wrote a comment on a different blog, but I think it also goes for this discussion: And if you compare the same recording in different rates/formats be sure to all ways listen from down to up,i.e. 128mp3 first and flac and Wav last. Your brain will accommodate the missing bits if you...- peterBj
