So I looked at NJC gear and that’s definitely what I’d like to get in the future. For now, is spotted a NA7004 on eBay and bought to today. Really looking forward to trying it next week when it arrives. Hoping it will make my HD650s shine. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the idea. I took a quick look and it reminds me of my separates days. Never could afford Marantz at the time. There one on eBay at the moment so might give this a go thanks.

If I did go with a Bottlehead, is there any reason not to feed it through the Oppo DAC first? I can't think of one but just checking. thanks

Thanks for the responses.  I cannot get it to work even when plugged into mains source,  the blue light comes on (sometimes blinking, sometimes solid) but no music will play through it when I hook up the X5ii.   Looks like its a dud.

I was using exfat with no issues on a 64Gb card (Sandisk Evo level 10) until I loaded the 192/24 Star Wars trilogy soundtrack. Stuttered all the way. I've learned my lessons so back to formatting cards through the Fiio unit directly. Everything works stutter free now.

Ok, so firstly thanks for the feedback before on the E12A for my X3 and HD598 setup.   It arrived yesterday and I tried it out.  In a moment of initial panic, I also ordered the E12 as I thought the E12A was too light on bass and that arrived this morning.  So great to be able to try the E11k...
