Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC
After comparing them for a couple of days, here are my impressions about MM1, MM2, and Modi+. I may be wrong. Brighter MM2 >= Modi+ > MM1 Resolving MM2 > Modi+ > MM1 Harshness Modi+ > MM2 > MM1 I am going to keep MM2. It's a perfect DAC for my HD650 and HD58X.- pdrm360

Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC
You may only need equalization. My HD650 with the right EQ produces an excellent Hi-Fi experience.- pdrm360

Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC
I need more time to listen to them, but at this point, I feel MM2 is more resolving than Modi+. I am not saying there is a day and night difference between them though and I am not sure what improvement you are looking for. I will be happy with either of them.- pdrm360

Here is my first impression, MM2 is more of an upgrade from Modi+, and if you are looking for the original MM sound, MM2 may not be what you are looking for. But I still think MM2 is technically a better DAC than the...- pdrm360

I don't know how much bass quantity (HD800 has excellent bass quality, IMO) you're looking for but I don't think the GS1000 or HD700 work for you. I suggest you to try Beyer T1 with a good tube amp (e.g. WA2), to me the T1 is the bridge between HD800 and HD650.- pdrm360

Well, I don't have any comfort issues with L-cush, but I know it doesn't work for everyone.- pdrm360
