Musicbee, best music manager/player?
Tried them all. MM is still the only one that can handle 450'000+ tracks on a NAS, without any hickups.- pachku

I think everybody who spams this thread with useless requests from Justin should be put to the back of the queue, do not pass go, do not collect a BHSE...- pachku

Costs of commissioning a Stax T2 DIY Build.
I never said I was smart... Starting to visit HF pretty much put an end to that... And don't get your knickers in a wad. I've had so many offers for commissioned builds of amps, including several 'stat amps. But what I want is a T2, and the only way to get one is find somebody who can...- pachku

Costs of commissioning a Stax T2 DIY Build.
I sure hope you're wrong there. Found a professional shop who was interested in building one, got them the PCBs, and off they went. Costing me an arm and a leg, but less than the 10k quoted above. Had to promise that I wouldn't tell anyone about who's doing it before they're...- pachku

Headamp Blue Hawaii Special Edition
I think I read somewhere that there were 21 BHSE and 17 Aristaeus built before the new production runs. Don't know if these numbers are exactly right, but there aren't many around, for sure. I'm betting that at least half of the new buyers are just getting one because of the...- pachku

The Stax thread (New)
Sillisally seems to me to be a classic example of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance. Why keeps explaining himself, I don't know, perhaps looking for followers to establish his own "Limited Expense Stax Mafia" As others are quite happy to pay more in search of perfection, he's...- pachku

The Stax thread (New)
No. Even on my old 007t, the 009 sounds fine and way better than the 007. BHSE or Aristaeus are arguably much better amps, but the difference (with the 009) is smaller than the step up from the 007 to the 009 (IMHO, YMMV). I'm sure 727/009 is a good combination, but it sure...- pachku

HeadAmp Aristaeus Electrostatic Amp - build thread
Looking forward to your impressions - Don't know a thing about phase splitters, but I like the sound with the Mazdas better than with the stock JJs, and in my book, that's what counts- pachku

HeadAmp Aristaeus Electrostatic Amp - build thread
Yes. It doesn't really show with the 009, which sounds different between the two amps, but not better or worse. But the O2 and the HE60 are definitely better off with the BHSE, and one gets the definite feeling that this has to do with the power the amp can throw at the can...- pachku
