Red band trailer for The Happening

I've seen it. Unfortunately. One of the worst films I've ever seen. If the plot wasn't bad/ridiculous enough, the acting by pretty much all the characters was dire. Avoid.

BBC - Radio 2 - Paul Morley's Guide To Musical Genres I'm not sure if it's still online or not, but last week there was an awesome program pretty much dedicated to post-rock. It showed how it began, and played a few songs, and had an interview with Mogwai. He listed Talk Talk and Slint as...

Site that notifies when an artist has a new release?

Myspace kinda does a similar thing for me. Not the best solution though.

Bands similar to the Postal Service?

How about "Casiotone for the Painfully Alone"? One guy and some plinky Casio keyboard, I quite like it. It may or may not be your thing though.

I just finished organising my collection of Godspeed live material. About 20gb of live stuff available free on archive.org, I recommend people check it out.

Help me decide what to buy.

It's a bit of an intermittent fault, so I could go for a week without it happening again. I've been thinking of upgrading for a while anyway, just putting it off because it wasn't an essential purchase.

Best SW for playing back ALAC that IS NOT iTunes or QuickTime?

You could try foobar, but I think it also requires a plugin for ALAC. It will also convert to FLAC or WAV. dbPoweramp is also often suggested for conversion.

The soundcard in my main computer (Creative Audigy) is dying a slow death. The sound keeps on going crackly every so often, and requires a reboot to fix it. Creative seem to have stopped supporting it too, so I need a new card. I could just get another PCI card and be done with it, but I'm...

    iTune Store

AFAIK itunes doesn't sell lossless downloads. You'd haveto settle for the low quality stuff they have on there, or find a better source.

If you like the appleseed cast, definately try out Moving Mountains. Pneuma is by far my favourite album of the year so far.
