Standard is probably the best - don't use the GTO, bit-perfect might be ok in some systems.

    MEZE Audio - 105 AER.... mini-review.

Yes, yes I do. As some people like the sound they have. It comes down to taste, I listen to a lot of rock/metal which works with headphones that have good extension, separation, speed and energy. All traits that the HD650 fall behind on, so they're not for me personally. I'm not bashing...

    MEZE Audio - 105 AER.... mini-review.

HD650 through tubes or solid state? It's funny you found the 105 AER to sound veiled whilst the HD650 are renowned for being veiled. I find the HD650 to be quite boring, and veiled, whereas the 105 AER manage to be engaging, fun and upbeat whilst retaining good detail (especially in the...

    MEZE Audio - 105 AER.... mini-review.

HD660S2 are a bit more polite in their presentation, and perhaps more linear. The 105 AER have more impact, and are far more fun to listen to, without sacrificing detail. It depends on what you personally prefer.

    Introducing NOIRE X

The 109 Pro are more energetic and fun, there's a bit more energy in the upper mids/treble and more punch. The NOIRE X is more linear, even handed and slightly polite in its presentation. I'd pick the 109 Pro for EDM personally, and NOIRE X for acoustic/softer music.

    Introducing NOIRE X

In my main arsenal I only really have the Meze 109 Pro at a "similiar" price point, they are neither closed back, nor planar, so I didn't feel a comparison would be overly beneficial. Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed my review.

    Introducing NOIRE X

My review has just gone up of the NOIRE X, I agree with the comments about a slight lack of punch yet, they are still a remarkably good headphone for the money - just be sure to demo them first to make sure their sound is right for your tastes (like any headphone really)...

Bowers and Wilkins PX8 Wireless Discussion

You do know that their speaker business props up the headphones, not the other way around right? They're just down the road from me, the brand isn't going anywhere, Masimo are just trying to untangle their consumer audio brands from the core medical side of things to understand and prioritise...

    Soundz In-ear monitors (Impressions thread)

Listening to the Avant today on my commute to London (luckily I don't have to do it often), they are such a stunning earphone sonically. Amazing depth and detail presented in a very natural and effortless way. Hugely enjoyable to listen to for long periods of time.
