Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
I'm not convinced that adding an extra complex component into the chain, including a VC, connectors, cabling etc would improve the sound of a device as transparent as the MJ3 is. I have no doubt that the sound might be different, but why better? I will try it at some point with my balanced Mac...- orkney

Managed to scribble this into the wrong thread. Three days in, I really like the MJ3. HPs thus far are the Clear OGs, assorted Grados and HD8xx, so nothing too fancy. Have been super busy so not much listening time of late but the MJ3 has now been playing on its own for a few days, and I have...- orkney

That was my experience also. That and the powerful but (for me) relatively lifeless sound sig made it hard to get on with. Preferred the FV musically (though it has its own issues in terms of hum, etc) and ended up going a different direction for a power amp to sub in in the summer months. I...- orkney

GS / Unison. I've also had the "More is Better" version but ended up sticking with the GS. Speakerwise I use a few different DACs.- orkney

I've owned the Rag 1 and 2, and while I appreciated the driving ability, I found the sound overall to be pretty straightforward and not nearly as lush and nuanced as what I enjoyed from the ZDTs, FV and now the MJ3. It could and did drive anything I owned at the time. Disclaimer: I no longer...- orkney

Looks like it. Looks like I wasn't charged for silver -- order never got updated I guess. I get the sense that this parts backlog has affected the smooth running of Schiit HQ. Package is already en route with FedEx so not much I can do at this point but will follow up with an email.- orkney

I got mine, at last. Not in the silver I ordered it in, but honestly that's a coin flip for me since my other gear is black liveried Yggy, Electrocompaniet and Mac tubes, so either black or silver is fine by me. Looking forward to having a listen when I get a chance.- orkney

Technics EAH-AZ80 True Wireless Earbuds
Interesting and detailed comparo --thanks. I also own both, and picked up the AZ80s as my travelling pair. I prefer the sound of the 80s overall, and find them more comfortable though, as you note, the AP2s don't poke as deeply into the ear canal (depending on tips used). I do find the NC of...- orkney

Technics EAH-AZ80 True Wireless Earbuds
I'm sure I'll get used to it. I'm on iOs, using 2-device multipoint, and find that the 80s pause playback, sometimes 2 or 3 times in a row, before settling in, and was wondering if there's a setting I'm not ... getting. But it's a minor quibble. These are excellent, especially at their new price.- orkney

Technics EAH-AZ80 True Wireless Earbuds
Brilliant buds, thus far. Picked up a pair last week after learning that my bricked XM4s are no longer repairable due to a parts shortage. Sound, comfort and battery life are all excellent and while the app feels a bit clunky still to me, it's perfectly usable. I do find these keep pausing...- orkney

Nice work. IMO, the MJ3 looks fab in silver. As much as having to fork out an extra 100 ducats for the change of clothes annoys, it's the one I went for,- orkney
