The Incoherent Rambling Room
Quote: Dude, get the Zino's and transplant the drivers. There are many rumors that the Zino drivers came from a larger Ultrasone phone and from trying the drivers out in several larger enclosures I can say that this is almost certainly true. They sound better in every enclosure that...- Olimoronio

Shootout: 114 Portable Headphones Reviewed (Xiaomi Mi Headphones added 04/21/2015)
ljokerl, have you seen these... Quote: I'm getting a pair on Tuesday. I'll let you know if they're up to snuff. But, man, with all those features I think I'd buy them for that price without any drivers.- Olimoronio

Prodipe Pro800: Best Easily Found <$50 Headphone Ever? (Impressions and Reviews Thread)
I have never heard an AKG unfortunately. The Cortex's do go lower and yes I'm sure that they are the same as the Prodide's minus the tape. At least, when I took them apart that was the only discernible difference. Same enclosures, same sqaure piece of foam inside, same slots (but like I...- Olimoronio

Prodipe Pro800: Best Easily Found <$50 Headphone Ever? (Impressions and Reviews Thread)
Quote: That's surprizing. I've owned three pairs now and a pair of their clones, the Cortex CHP2500's, and all seemed built to last IMO. BTW, The ONLY difference between the Cortex's and the Prodipe's is that felt tape over the vent slots at the rear of the enclosure...- Olimoronio

You say warm and lush in one instance then you say mids as forward as possible. This kind of seems like a contradiction to me. Prodipe Pro800's are made in Europe and have MOST of your requirements down pat. Might want to give those a try.- Olimoronio

The first thing you need to understand is that stated specs mean exactly spit. For example... I recently bought a pair of $40 Pioneer portables that stated their responce at 12 - 22,000 Hz. I also ordered a pair of Coby's (that's right, Coby's) for $15 that were discontinued that I wanted...- Olimoronio

That's the problem - bass isn't just a one dimensional thing like most people seem to think. Do you want more depth? Do you want more impact? Do you want cleaner bass. Or do you want bass that is ever prevalent and boomy? People really need to start describing what they want...- Olimoronio

Why do I always get the feeling that I'm being ignored on the full-sized forum? What, do you think I go around recommending crappy phones all day for kicks or something??? I have over 400 phones and have listwened to MANY others. I recommended those Creative HQ-1600's on the portable forum and...- Olimoronio
