Having a hard time picking out a nice pair of headphones,

I can as well!  Unfortunately, from what I've read around the forums, the Pioneers have nice mids, but highs and lows are lacking.  Other than that, I haven't heard much about them, other than the build quality is quite good.  :(  Anyone else?

$22 Monoprice headphones takes on $150 Bose and Audio-Technica rivals

True, but I wouldn't know.  I read somewhere on the forums that Kicker supposedly re-engineered some "expensive German/European headphones" and put the drivers into their headphones, but then again everything now is hearsay.

$22 Monoprice headphones takes on $150 Bose and Audio-Technica rivals

I'd just like to point out one things.   The Monoprice headphones that look exactly the same as the Kicker HP541's have different speaker drivers, at least that's what I've heard from Kicker reps.  54mm vs. 50 mm, and 107 dB vs. 100 dB, for Kickers and Monoprice respectively

Large, open back, home-use and/or portable, closed headphones - Suggestions??

Haha, thanks a bunch, you're the only person so far that has recommended me anything.  And should I be trusting sellers off of eBay when it comes to headphones?  Especially if they're being shipped "from Hong Kong"?

Need suggestions for Portable Heapdhones - Repost from the Full Sized Headphones forum

So I'm extremely new to the forums, and I can't say I'm much of an audiophile as I'm relatively new to the scene of headphones.  Anyways, I've always wanted to have a combination of a pair of open headphones for home/studio use, as I hear the sound stage is usually much larger and it's more...

headphones with detachable cable on a budget?

I've actually heard that too, but I don't have $150-200 to drop on experimentally good SKs :(

headphones with detachable cable on a budget?

Quote:   And I didn't talk about any headphones that I thought "sounded bad", or didn't have a detacheable cable feature either.  Again, providing just one brand to someone doesn't really help the OP... ;)   The fact you would recommend Skullcandy at all gives me the shivers.

headphones with detachable cable on a budget?

Don't really think anyone should limit themselves to one brand.  That's just foolish.

headphones with detachable cable on a budget?

I would try the less well-known Kicker HP541's.  I have them, and they fit my budget (around $50 plus shipping), collapsible, 50mm+ speaker drivers, comes with two cable lengths/sizes + 6.3mm adapter.  I'm not much of an audiophile, but I can tell you that the emphasis is on the bass, as Kicker...
