ULTRASONE NEW ANNOUNCED HEADPHONE Signature Pro

Hi There..   Having used my SigPro for five months I love their dynamic and crisp-clear mids (beats my HD600 hands-down, source/amp 901+V200) but I am still not quite satisfied with their tingling treble. Some more experienced users suggest a longer burn-in due to the "stiff" titanium-coated...

Reply to review by 'nicocat' on item 'Bowers & Wilkins P7'

Sorry I didn't see your reply..   Well, P7 aren't cold in my opinion but if you found they do, then a warmer set-up, like Hifiman 901, will help. I just think they are slightly v-shaped.   The main problem of P7 as I know is the bass dynamics, which "blur" the bass. So far I haven't yet find a...

Reply to review by 'nicocat' on item 'Bowers & Wilkins P7'

I am using ODAC/HM901 with O2/SR71A/G109P, and wouldn't say Spirit Pro lacks dynamics, Spirit Pro plays pianos very well except for being a bit compressed at suddenly very loud moments.. but well what should I expect from a pair of £200 headphones? They also play vocal extremely well.   P7 on...

I agree with most of your description of P7, but Spirit Pro is not that good.   I got both, Spirit Pro and P7.   I like Spirit Pro for neutral bass and mids. P7 do have more treble energy and sound loose compared with HD600, while Spirit Pro simply lack the treble for violin's or harpsichord's...

    Non-Fatiguing Grado's?

Possibly I did get a less bright 125i and they are not very agile either, compared to 80i .. as I didn't quite agree with whathifi's comments on 125i (actually 125 on whathifi's website but I think it should be 125i since they come with new soft pads) "Fast and dig up plenty of detail."  ...

ULTRASONE NEW ANNOUNCED HEADPHONE Signature Pro

Newbie of sigpro reporting..   I seriously doubt if sigpro does require very long break-ins, say 300 hrs. The sound of my sigpro seems to be stablised after 50 hrs of run-in by play pink/white noise with a Clip+ at -10db.   My Sigpro were 1) very bright and harsh with violins and...

    Non-Fatiguing Grado's?

SR60i SR125i MS1i are the non-fatigue Grados I've owned. I also heard some good words about PS500 and MSPro, not sure though. PS500 seems to be non-fatigue according to the measurement from Tyll.    I found most of Grados, SR325i, RS1i (not to mention RS1) and the mighty PS1000 very bright...

Review by 'NicoCat' on item 'Rudistor Chroma MD2'

One of the speakers stopped working 4 months after purchase, then the MD2 were sent back to Italy and got repaired. After 3 weeks that speaker stopped working again. Could be the soldering issue, or my bad luck. They have worked for around 300 hours, and were stored in the case each time after...

    New Shure SRH1540 closed-back headphones?

Found a US dealer has them listed for $499.   Some German Shure blog says they would be be available in Germany in the autumn. Could be available in the UK at the same time, I guess.

    New Shure SRH1540 closed-back headphones?

Some random browsing I found SRH1540 on Shure's website. They're close-backed and share the same design as the 1440/1840. The pads seem to be velour/fabric. Price and release date are still unknown.       Spec: Transducer Type: dynamic, neodymium magnet Driver size: 40 mm...

Your favourite "not the best" headphones?

My favourite not-the-best closed cans are DT250-250 as well, after owning my K271S, HD380Pro, SRH840, HD25-1/C/-13 Z1000 and T5P for a long time. DT250-250 have a kind of accurate and neutral presentation with a tad of warmth and thickness and they don't really sound like a pair of closed cans -...

beyerdynamic T5p: Photos and first impressions.

I'm actually thinking of trying O2.. would try PCSTEP if I have the chance.   ODAC-> SR71A -> T5P (1 yr old) sounds a bit too thick in the mid, maybe O2 would do the job better.

    The Astell & Kern AK120

Quote:   AK120 has dual WM8470, which does not support DSD decoding (while WM8471 does).

beyerdynamic T5p: Photos and first impressions.

Thanks, it is only the ODAC from Epiphany Acoustics.   I am not a fan of 'wire with gain' but admire NWAvGuy's design, although being USB-powered, it is much better than my previous Musical Fidelity V-DAC in terms of transparency, veins/details, instrumental separation, imagining and even...

beyerdynamic T5p: Photos and first impressions.

I found that T5p are not extremely picky on recordings, that's why I like them.   My setup:       Currently listening to 'Spring Wind' by Jack Johnson from 180 Degree South, which is a bit bright on my Z1000 but fine with T5p.   BTW I won't have any Mahler on Sunday morning
