ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Re T2, braided is not going to happen. Will most likely go with the Cablesforless; seems they can make it and at the price, nothing to loose. I can actually compare the stock premium VIVO cable to the "rock bottom" Cablesforless and see whether I can hear any difference. If cables make a...- NiceStrongArm

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Thanks for the recommendations. The T2 braided design I don't like, and sleeved is adding bulk and weight. Not cheap either! Sent a PM to Paladin79 whether that is something they can make. Also found CorpseCable with the Gravedigger that seems more of what I am looking for. Sent an inquiry to...- NiceStrongArm

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Can anybody recommend more lightweight & flexible cables for the Ether 2? I have no clue who sells third party cables with that particular connector, so even a list of the "usual" suspects would be most welcome. Thanks!- NiceStrongArm

connecting integrated amplifier (pre-out) to headphone amp
Well, that was easy! If everything in audio would be so straight forward. I had a buzzing problem once, and after months figured out it was a fluorescent light fixture for an orchid terrarium that sent EMF noise to the tubes. Drove me nuts. Had forgotten about that when I wrote the previous...- NiceStrongArm

connecting integrated amplifier (pre-out) to headphone amp
I don't get any buzz on my headphones. If I understand you ok, then your headphone amp is the SMSL SP200, which is solid state, so there should be no issues with tube noise. I don't know about your sources, but is it coming from turntable? Is the TT properly grounded? Alternatively, you may have...- NiceStrongArm

connecting integrated amplifier (pre-out) to headphone amp
@ManuCV Yes, very similar, indeed. I have B&W CM6 bookshelf speakers on stands and also like the combo quite a bit. Rotel and B&W are with the same parent company, so there is some synergy going on. I see hummelhummel Nordlicht :-) Good place, though a bit too cold and damp for my taste. The...- NiceStrongArm

You can turn the speakers on/off no problems with the front A/B speaker switch on the RA 1752. If you have a subwoofer as well, then that will need to be turned on/off manually. That is a reason why I may think about replacing the RA 1572 with separate pre/power amp, where the preamp has a true...- NiceStrongArm

Actually, I put a note with my order, which prompted them to call me. So the cart system is not automatic.- NiceStrongArm

Why do you then sell me last week a package with Ether 2 headphones and VOCE pads? Ordered from you directly and even talked on the phone. Really confusing.- NiceStrongArm

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
Hmm, recently switched between WE422 and the stock rectifier, and the stock sounds pretty pathetic and dull. I would definitely try some different rectifiers. I have just gotten a brown base Philipps and a RCA 5U4G. The Phillips at 1/2 to 1/4 price of the WE422 sounds very close, maybe a tiny...- NiceStrongArm

I don't know what the combo of Sophia Princess with your headphones will sound like with the 13EM7. For me with WE422 on Ether 2, in comparison, they are a bit more detailed, and also seem to be more powerful (turn volume down) than the FDs. I noticed that Woo sells a pair of 13EM7 with adapter...- NiceStrongArm

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
I just got the VOCE pads for the Ether 2, and the VOCE pads are listed as an accessory for the Ether 2 on the Dan Clark website "These ear pads sport a very large round opening for the ear. Designed for our VOCE Electrostatic headphone, the pads are also compatible with all ETHER headphone...- NiceStrongArm

Thanks for this. No problem trying that. I have all sorts of small tools for microscopy. I tried bending the rods, but they seem to be made out of some really resilient material. So I am complaining about quality :-o- NiceStrongArm

ETHER 2: Impressions and Discussion
Just notice something critical for tonality. The lateral pressure of the hear pads on the head has a PROFOUND effect on tonality. I have to figure out how to make them sit more loosely on my ears. When pulling the drivers a tiny bit away from ears/skull, suddenly the headphone starts to open out...- NiceStrongArm
