I had a first gen, the hum was only present for certain , very sensitive gear on the SE output (Shure se846) for my other phones, HIfiman HE400, LCD-XC, Fisher FA-002W, Grado MS1000 no such issues.

I wonder if the cavalli boys are making the 2nd batch the same hardware or if they will tweak the design it at all?

Not sure that turning on high gain on low impedance will improve sound quality, maybe work on something else in the chain, like the earphones seal? Love your eardrums, lo volume fi ftw!

I suspect that the stock Psu doesn't have the grunt to push the orthos which are current hungry. I'll give it a new set of tubes and try throw a new Psu together for it before I subject my self to more of its delivery

There is an app on the Xda-developers forums that hacks the v10 so that the Hi fi Dac / amp is used all the time, not just in the LG music app.   it lets me use power amp and other players with the better amp dac enabled which makes it awesome!
