iFi audio ZEN One Signature - be at One with your sound!

Okay, but Sebastien it's really short and doesn't flex very much. I found I couldn't use it because of this and replaced it with a 1.5 metre cable. It's still chonky, but because of the length I have room to move and it's easy to hide away. The short cable just isn't very practical, sorry to say.

iFi audio ZEN One Signature - be at One with your sound!

I replaced mine when I bought my Zen Dac V2. I've no idea why they thought that length was a good idea!

Hi, glad you like them! I agree about the hotspot, I have to readjust after an hour or so as it can be quite painful, square on the top of my head. Otherwise the comfort level is astounding. Sadly yes, they are so good for a budget headphone that they will show up a poor master or recording. To...

iFi audio ZEN One Signature - be at One with your sound!

Nice one iFi - see what I did there. I love my Zen DAC V2, this is a much better solution than the Signature DAC that is available because of it's flexibility. Also, I have to laugh at all those people who dismiss a product because it supports MQA. You do realise that it works without it too...

Hi, I can't help you with the fiio or apple dac enquiry, but I do have the Zen Dac V2 and it can handle the HE400SE very well. I would suggest that if you do go that route, get yourself a balanced cable. It does give the headphones that little bit more power and I have to say there is a marked...

The cable from Ali looks great. I have actually bought the ones from Amazon, they just arrived yesterday. Quality wise, everything seems fine with them, but I haven't had time to listen to the setup with the new wire yet.

Thanks everyone, plenty of options! One thing that does stand out is that apparently not many companies in Europe make cables for headphones.

Can anyone point me in the direction of an online retailer selling compatible balanced cables with a 4.4mm termination for the HE400se? I've just bought an iFI Zen Dac v2 and want to make the most of the balanced output.

    Cable Recommendations

Giving this thread a little bump, as I'm also looking for a balanced cable for my HE400se terminated with a 4.4mm jack to use with my newly received iFi Zen Dac v2. Thanks in advance!

Thank you! I agree, I feel like what they've done is tuned them to be musical. It's something that a lot of audiophile or hi-fi oriented manufacturers seem to have forgotten. I don't want to analyse my music, I want to experience it! Glad to hear they pair well with the hip-dac, these will be...

I've just received my HE400SE. Honestly, I'm blown away with how far budget headphones have come in the last few years. I have been using Sennheiser HD599's for a while. At the time they were the best I could afford, I did consider Beyerdynamic DT770's, but I find the treble response too harsh...

PC Speakers (of the kinda budget but not tin-can variety)

We have two pairs of the Edifiers at home and they are fantastic for the money, especially if you find them on a deal. I bought them through AliExpress directly from Edifier, who shipped them from Spain to Belgium in less than 5 days. At the time of purchase I paid little more that the cost of 1...

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

I have no experience with the e1da gen 3, but there seems to be quite a lot of discussions online and here in the forums too (which you already know) about the device. Good luck with your future purchase whichever you choose!

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

Hmmmm. Both devices have very different uses. The N3 a standalone DAP with a huge amount of flexibility and the e1da a headphone DAC/Amp. It's going to come down to what do you intend to use it with. Do you need the features of the N3 or just an offboard DAC/Amp? I haven't heard the latter...

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150

I assume you mean when walking and using bluetooth headphones and not wired? I have had that occasionally with one specific pair. If I restart the N3 it seems to fix the issue. In regard to the car, that may be more complicated. We purchased an Opal Adam around the time I purchased my N3 and it...
