The decision you have to make is DSLR or not. The non DSLR cameras have smaller CCDs than the name brand DSLR cameras. The Canon IMO has the best CCD. Don't be fooled by the megapixel stuffing non DSLR cameras. Many of the non DSLR cameras have the same size CCD for 6 and 10 megapixel...

What is your maximum H, W, and D + your spending limit. Additionally, define decent in your terms i.e. "gotta be better than any computer speaker".

Don't even waste your money. It is really that bad.
