Etymotic Research EVO impressions and discussion thread
Firstly, thanks to everyone who has written impressions so far, they have been really interesting reading. I have received and spent a couple of really nice moments with them (the Australian tour unit) but first came a bit of fiddling trying to achieve a good seal. None of the sizes really...- n05ey

Etymotic EVO: World Tour
I received the units today! Can't wait to really get into them over the next week. They are beautiful and I have been looking forward to trying a linum cable since I first saw them. I'll share my unconventional approach to getting a seal tomorrow but suffice to say I am having a fun time so...- n05ey

AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk
They are a special sound. Still a new toy but they are fitting the bill well. I didn't realise quite how beautiful and huge the case is!- n05ey

AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk
I picked them up with under 50hrs secondhand in Australia. Addicted to Audio has them here but they are going for the full $980aud which doesn't seem quite right... I switched to the suede pads which are beautiful but they don't seem to seal on my head properly which means that unless I...- n05ey

AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk
I just received a pair of owls and I have to say they are everything and more of what I hoped they would be. They have a smooth clear sound with plenty of detail. The treble does take a bit of a back seat but it isn't muffled or muted, the detail is there, just not at the front of the mix. I...- n05ey

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
Thanks @Lurk650 for the heads up on the Shure pads. I had a set kicking around and have put them on, I am loving them. The best way I can describe the change to me is that it feels like a layer of warm reverb has been taken away which opens up the sound beautifully.- n05ey

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread
I actually got them second hand so I think they were reasonably settled already, however after spending a fair bit of time with my Sennheiser hd250's with modded felt which are quite bright I needed time to adapt :-) They are beautiful and sound wonderful... The only thing I don't love at the...- n05ey

Do you have the shures on the 99s at the moment? Do you fit them over the whole cup or tuck it in?- n05ey

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
What is the battery life like on the syllable? Is it 8-10hrs including case recharges or per recharge?- n05ey

Sennheiser HD250 Linear Impressions Micro-Thread
Well, I have been thoroughly enjoying these. They make it hard to find time to listen to the srh1520's, hd580's or hd650's. It is a really great can to listen to either picking out details or just letting the music flow, a pretty rare double in my experience. Straight out of the nano black...- n05ey

I'd be keen, I haven't got a huge current stable but the senns have always been on my wish list. I am Sydney based as well- n05ey
