Is the iMod worth the extra $199 ?

Thanks guys, I already have a pretty decent in-home setup (K1000, Sennheiser HD580, Sophia Baby amp, and X-Can V3) so I wanted something as a portable solution. I really need to stop checking head-fi. It's draining my bank account.

Question about the new iMod Cables from ALO

Are there any differences between the cables in terms of sound quality? I am thinking of purchasing one, but don't know what would be most appropriate. I will be connecting my soon-to-be iMod with a portable amp such as Tomahawk, Superxin, etc.

    Airplane Listening

I tried out various noise canceling, but none seemed to work. The only earphones that I am comfortable wearing in an airplane is the Sensaphonics 2X-S. I'm assuming that any type of sealing IEM will work well, but my only first-hand experience is with the Sensa. I keep it on the whole time and...

Is the iMod worth the extra $199 ?

Just sent my iPod to be iModded! I'm wondering what the most appropriate portable amp would be (for use in traveling, work, etc). I've been looking at the Tomahawk. I will be using my Sensaphonics 2X-S with it. Also any recommendations on cable? I'm leaning towards the ALO Cryo series. Any...

X-Can V3, Gilmore Lite or Hornet?

I have the X-Can V3 for my HD580 with Equinox Cables and it sounds amazing. You can pick the amps up from some of the forums for a decent price. You won't regret it. ______________________ http://www.cyreport.com Technology news on the go (for serious technology and gadget...

HD650 user... to recable, or to Sony?

I agree with some of the others, I would upgrade your cables. The stock ones are rubbish. I bought the Equinox from Todd and they are amazing. They bring out details and "controls" the music. ______________________ http://www.cyreport.com Technology news on the go (for serious...

Who should I buy the K701s from?

Todd the Vinyl Junkie was amazing to deal with. He answers phone calls personally and will give you his expert and honest opinion on the stuff he carries. I would call him and ask him about the headphones. http://www.ttvj.com ______________________ http://www.cyreport.com Technology...

    help choosing new cans

Sennheiser HD580 is probably the best deal you will get. Lots of people say that the HD600 or HD650 are better, which is mostly true, but only in a very minor way. If you want a better sound, what you might want to do is get the HD580 (I think you can find it now for around $160) and with the...

I admit it! I listen to rock through HD650s.

I listen to everything on my Senn 580 with Equinox Cables. Metal and Rock included (Pink Floyd is a bliss to listen to on the 580) Sounds great. Senns all the Way! ______________________ http://www.cyreport.com Technology news on the go (for serious technology and gadget...

How loud do you have your IEM's volume at?

I wear Sensaphonics ProPhonic Soft 2X as my IEM and they almost completely seal out and isolate any ambient noise so I keep my volume nearly all the way down. The details on these earphones are amazing at low volume. Unlike the Ultimate Ears version, which is excellent as well, the ProPhonic...

    AKG K701 Review Thread

I just updated my Senn HD580s with the Stefan AudioArt Equinox Cable and MF X-Can V3. Otherwise I would definitely splurge on the 701. Maybe as a Christmas present... must... resist... AAAAAAAH ______________________ http://www.cyreport.com Technology news on the go (for serious...

Recommendations for Best headphones on the market (new and old)

The Sennheiser HD580s are sub-$200 always a plus, but I added on the Stefan AudioArt Equinox cables for $200 so for about $400, this is the sweetest setup I have tried yet. Rich bass, yet not overwhelming. Excellent treble, and amazing mids. I listen to a lot of jazz, it sounds like you are...
