Hi, With a prior HD DAC , the headphone output was at least equal or smoother/less sibilant than Chord DAVE through Utopia, HD 800. Now have Tube DAC with Classic PSU, same musical natural clarity through Utopia via DHC Peptide type 4 cable, source quality equal from Antipodes DX...

Now have new power cables to Synergistic Research Powercell III SE, Soulution 721 and 710,  the Nagra HD DAC and MPS have also benefitted ( fed from PowerCell ) as much more naturally musical, full range thru Luxman p700u ( thus independent of Soulution pre and power ) headphone amp into Dharma...

Try EMM Labs XDS1 v2 Digital output: Nagra HD DAC seems to read  88.2kHz signal output from hybrid SACD/CD discs at SACD setting of EMM Labs XDS1 v2, with warmer and mellower music interpretation, though EMM Labs disc player a touch more dynamic, IMO.  Both upscale all inputs to DSD.  Cheers M2m
