rockbox on ipod is here
This could end up as a very nice project indeed. Rockbox has transformed iriver players, so, with the superb hardware of the ipod, the end result could be breathtaking (I'm sure many people will want to test, and will have the hardware to do so ) IIRC, Rockbox for the karma is near to...- mushu

I took my Samsung YH-J70 appart! Photos inside!
Great pics, glad someone was crazy enough to open up their J70! The harddrive is a standard toshiba 1.8" harddrive. You can get a 30gb harddrive which is identical is size as the standard one. All of the other harddrives that toshiba make are 3mm thicker, so if you measure and check that...- mushu

160kbs vs 320kbs?
Lame extreme @ 256kb does the job just fine IMO. I could get away with 192k though I suppose.- mushu

First FLAC-playing flash-player announced
FLAC and flash should never be used in the same sentence; it's just illogical. Even a 20gb player is a bit too small for FLAC, unless you only store your favourite albums in FLAC. Looks like a very nice player though, I'm sure the nano has seized a lot of the flash market by now though, even...- mushu

rio karma vs iaudio X5 vs samsung YH-J70
I have had first hand experience with the karma and samsung. The samsung is definatly better. The features are amazing, colour screen, movies, nice formfactor (karma was too fat in my pocket), drag and drop, recording, janus playback. Even has a good 9 band custom EQ. The only things it...- mushu

suddenly the nano does not look quite as "revolutionary"
I don't personally like ipods, but I have to admit the nano is revolutionary. Well, probably not when you think about it, because they probably just ordered a whole warehouse of flash chips from someone like samsung so they got a great deal, but yeah, whatever. Shame about all the cracked...- mushu

3G & 4G iPod leather cases $11.70 shipped
Not bad actually. Since we're on the topic of advertising cases, I personally like the mindknob cases here more. They're also made by a super cool guy- mushu

Best sub $100 IEM's with the least isolation
Ok thanks. I'm tempted towards the shure's now (could get a good used pair of e3's I suppose), but do they isolate noise significantly more than the EX51/MD33 type of earphones?- mushu

Best sub $100 IEM's with the least isolation
I love my MD-33's, but want to take a step up. I've been looking at the ety er-6(i)'s, e2's and the super.fi 3's, possibly even the westone um1's. Which of these earphones sound best while being the most comfortable and blocking out the least outside noise (weird I know, but I stil want to hear...- mushu
