I also really love Open backs, and that's why the majority of my more expensive headphones are open. I recently added some more closed backs to my collection but similar as you, I always enjoy going back to an open back. At least in my position, the only ones I am annoying with sound leaking...

I wonder if after letting them burn in for a few days of constant playback that their sound would improve and possibly open up the bass a little... I know that my 1570s did benefit from some burnin for sure.

Yea it's crazy, as long as you bookmark that email price link and check it regularly, there always seems to be a discount up. This is definitely the lowest I've ever seen them go though... maybe that's a sign that a V3 is coming? Who knows. There are some Open Box ones offered up for even less...

Update, new sale is on for Monoprice and the 1070C / 1570C are still on sale for the same prices. Not sure how long this refreshed sale will last but I assume we have at least another week to decide. Cheers
