AudioQuest NightOwl - A closed-back NightHawk
Hi everyone, after some searching back and forth, I decided to order the Nightowl last weekend. Waiting eagerly for them to arrive and try out :) Now I am uncertain if I should get a DAC/Amp as well. One of the main audio sources would be my Macbook Pro (Mid 2015) at work. Which Amps would be a...- multimike

New Creative Earphones - The Aurvana In-Ear 3
Quote: Well for the Aurvana 3 the only official statement about the cable is that it is a "premium, high purity oxygen-free copper cable". However when looking at the pictures from the Aurvana Air, the cable looks pretty similar. It looks like they have the same plug and Y-cable joint. So...- multimike

New Creative Earphones - The Aurvana In-Ear 3
Finally my Aurvana In-Ear 3 arrived So after some first listening tests I want to share my first impressions. Wearing comfort is very good for me, once you figured out how to place and insert them. Noise isolation is very good, a lot better than what I could achieve with my v-moda Vibes. I...- multimike

V-moda Vibes... The review is finished. (56k beware, big pics...)
Hi! I read some reviews for the Vibe and decided to give them a try as a start into IEMs / canal phones. Any news about where to get them in Germany? Or should I order at the V-Moda shop directly?- multimike

Background noise on Zen Microphoto
Got an exchange for my unit today but the new one has the same issue. I think I will keep the Zen until I can test it with my new IEMs. If noise isn't a lot worse than with the stock earbuds I can live with it for the moment.- multimike

Buying first pair of IEMs - which one to get?
Went to a local music store today and asked if I could listen to some IEMs. They had the E3c and E4c available, so quite good for me to do some A/B testing with them. Unfortunately they didn't have the UM2s since they are barely available here in Germany. So I began auditioning the E3c and E4c...- multimike

Buying first pair of IEMs - which one to get?
Thanks so far for your thoughts. I've also spent some time reading through lots of posts here on head-fi. I was able to cut down my list of possible candidates to: - Shure E4c - Westone UM2 - maybe Shure E5c, depending on the price I've read some reviews and opionions on the three and all...- multimike

Background noise on Zen Microphoto
@w&q My experience using different type of rather cheap earbuds since I don't own IEMs yet was that the background noise was only audible when display and background light are on. As soon as they fade out, there was no more noise audible for my ears. Apart from this flaw, the Zen delivers a...- multimike

Buying first pair of IEMs - which one to get?
I want to buy a pair of good IEMs for my new Mp3 player, Zen Microphoto. (see my post in the Portable audio section of this forum) After searching and reading through the net I have narrowed down my favourite candidates to the following IEMs. Single Driver: - Shure E3c - Shure E4c - UE...- multimike
