Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!
Concerned about efficiency - will a little portable DAP drive them to a good healthy level? - which it can with the ATH M50's. I'm aware that their ability to reduce ambient noise is superior to that of the A-T's, and I would not be interested in buying the Beyer cans if it were not for many...- MStager

Beyerdynamic DT 150: Bloody Brilliant!
I'm concerned about efficiency. I would use them almost exclusively with an Astell DAP. How does the Beyer DT-150 (250 Ω) compare with the AKG 371 or my well worn A-T ATH-50 (32 Ω) ?- MStager

Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7b Impressions & Discussion Thread
I'd be curious to know how these compare to my venerable A-T ATH-M50 - not just with regard to sound but efficiency also. Very important, since I use these with an Astell DAP. BTW, the headband material is completely frayed, very thin, poor quality material. I hope these new cans are better.- MStager

Electrostatic headphones
I came across this website and one item I found interesting was this pair of Koss ESR 9 electrostatic headphones previously owned by drummer Mitch Mitchell. https://bid.gwsauctions.com/auction/46/item/jimi-hendrix-experience-mitch-mitchell-koss-headphones-7369/ I haven't seen any...- MStager

The Astell & Kern AK120
I transfer files, mostly FLAC, some high-res WAVS, using a simple directory, open in two panels - one for the source folder, the other for the AK120. While this is on a PC, I don't see where a similar technique would be a problem with a Mac. Proprietary software just makes things needlessly...- MStager

What Cables for Audeze LCD-2?
A few months ago a customer ordered a 2.5 meter long silver headphone cable, 1/4" to mini XLRs, for Audeze LCD-3 headphones. Pure siilver, cost $270.00. His comment after he used it a few weeks: "The silver headphone cable you sent for my Audeze LCD-3 headphones are superb sounding...- MStager

The Elephant in the Room
If and only if the original recording was mixed using headphones as reference monitors, I would agree with you 100%. But anything mixed with speakers playing in front of the mix engineer, when reproduced over headphones or IEM's will have an exaggerated, artificial soundfield. I...- MStager

The Elephant in the Room
Soundstage in headphones? You jest. What soundstage? There really isn't any. The stereo spread is completely artificial. The left channel feeds only the left ear and right only the right ear. Listening to speakers, there is a semblance of a natural soundstage where the music is in...- MStager

The Astell & Kern AK120
I recently bought a very nice used A-K AK120 - original version. Firmware is 1.42. Sounds good, a slight improvement in detail over my iBasso DX-90 - but... A few things don't seem to work very well: It refuses to recognize APE files. It does recognize some DSF files but has...- MStager
