HD800 vs LCD-2: Has anyone performed an A/B comparison?
Hello. I performed a couple searches for this sort of post, but came up empty handed. I did find some HD800 threads, and some LCD-2 threads. I'm particularly interested in anyone's feedback, impressions, or thoughts on how these two headphones differ. My equipment: Tom Christiansen Audio HPA-1...- mresseguie

Tom Christiansen Audio HPA-1 - Impressions Thread
I guess I’m a little late commenting on my TCA HPA-1, but here goes: I bought one of the first few HPA-1 amps that Tom produced last Spring. It replaced a Schiit Lyr3 which I’d had for about one year. To date, I’ve only used HD650s with it, and paired a dB Audiolabs Tranquility SE DAC with it...- mresseguie

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Hello, Sean. I discovered 1.5m (or 5 ft) coax cable lengths are best last year when I purchased a SW1X DAC. Slawa, the designer doesn't care for USB connectivity, so I bought an adapter with its own 1.5m coax. It's not as convenient as USB connectivity, but oh the sound quality.... Michael- mresseguie

I noticed that my Lyr3 gets really hot. I was very concerned about it initially - even asked customer support about it - but finally got used to it. I've thought about trying to fry an egg on it, but with my luck the albumen would drip inside and fry the amp. :cooking:- mresseguie

Hi, Alex. Long time no chat. Kinda miss your cheery demeanor. My HPA arrived two days ago, but I'm letting it sit in my garage for a couple days just in case the shipping box picked up any nasty virus germs in transit. I have a Lyr3 that I bought last year. Do you think the Lyr3 as pre/DAC...- mresseguie

Gustard X20 DAC
My memory tells me my X20 has a one year warranty. How can it be bad if it is one year or even two years? Just about every electronic component I've ever owned has had either a 30 day, 90 day, or one year warranty. I can't think of the last time I had one fail. No, wait. My old Denon amp...- mresseguie

MhzTweaker, I don't know if it is in your price range, but I just ordered a Pi Audio USB cable. It comes in .75m ($299) and 1.5m lengths. I bought the 1.5m for $349. It ought to be delivered in 10 days or so. I'll report any impressions once the cable has settled down. This will be my...- mresseguie

Ordered on Worthy Audio's website Feb 23rd;shipped from China; delivered Feb 29th to Oregon (my audiophile friend's home). Thirty minutes later he had it plugged in and playing music. He reported that he is very happy with it and that I should consider delaying my return to the States. Hope...- mresseguie

English version of the X20 user's guide begins on page 20 (scroll down to correct page): http://pan.baidu.com/s/1jH1SCg2 BTW I purchased my X20U from Worthy Audio. It's a pretty new outfit based in Fremont, CA. By purchasing my X20U from their website, I bypassed Amazon's sellers fees...- mresseguie

Hello, everyone. As you can see this is my first post to Head-Fi. Over time, I've been an occasional lurker on this website, but I've been a nearly constant lurker since I began reading this thread recently. I wish to thank all of you for contributing and to a big thumbs up to stuartmc for...- mresseguie
