What size/which volume knobs did you get? And how do you remove the stock volume knob?

New Dragonfly Black and Red Discussion

Using DFB here. Additionally, if you're on Mac and download the program Karabiner (not sure if on windows), you can have the volume keys default to being 1/4 steps like holding Shift+Option+Volume does. I'm sure you can reprogram the keys somehow without an app (and if someone figures it out...

    Best portable DAC?

The new Dragonfly Black and Red work with iPhones and (are temperamental with) Android (Read the official discussion thread for more details). As for sound quality, I don't have a 1.2 so I can't compare, but I've heard the discussion go both ways with Black>1.2 and 1.2>Black, but the sure thing...

    Sennheiser HD558 cable

Did you just unsolder the PCB and resolder a 3.5mm plug? if so, could you possibly show pictures of the internals, cuz seeing this I'm thinking about doing that to mine right now too

How to improve audio quality from iPhone (e.g., Amp, DAC+Amp, EQ Apps, etc.)?

It's cheaper  I don't have any experience with the red, but I do have the black, and for my purposes, it does its job

How to improve audio quality from iPhone (e.g., Amp, DAC+Amp, EQ Apps, etc.)?

The Dragonfly Black is a DAC and an Amp. You can't use only a DAC, there needs to be some amping to power the headphones. All external DACs will either require another amp, or have one built in, but in either case it won't send the signal back to use the iPhone's amp (which I'm gonna go ahead...

How to improve audio quality from iPhone (e.g., Amp, DAC+Amp, EQ Apps, etc.)?

I understand that they can be used wired, but at their core, they're still a headphone made for portable use, in which case, I'd say a DAC/Amp setup is almost overkill. Almost. Sure there could be some minimal changes if you do get a DAC/Amp to use portably, but you just have to weigh the...

How to improve audio quality from iPhone (e.g., Amp, DAC+Amp, EQ Apps, etc.)?

Keep in mind if you're planning on getting an external DAC/Amp, you won't be able to use the wireless functionality of your Crossfade Wireless. That said, the iPhone 6 and up is supposed to be a great source as is, and seeing as you're using relatively easy to drive headphones, an amp wouldn't...

The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

Yeah that's why I put YMMV. If you do get lucky and your Target is clearing out inventory, you can make a good find :D It was the green color, which I think they call "Alpha." I just checked the DPCI for Brickseek and its 057-01-2074

The target is the one in New Berlin, WI. I've never heard of brickseed, and on the target website the jaybirds bluebuds X2 are still $150 (http://target.com/p/jaybird-x2-premium-wireless-earbuds-x2-premium/-/A-50226870)

YMMV but my local target was moving things around and my dad got some Jaybirds X2 for $56 after tax because they were in clearance. Not hi-fidelity, but a great deal on some workout headphones

    Bluetooth CIEM available?

I think Sleek Audio Makes CIEMs with removable cable, and they also sell a wireless adapter that fits those cable sockets.
