What Are You Listening To Right Now?
The vinyl copy of this just arrived so I am listening to the digital version at my desk. -
Technics EAH-AZ80 True Wireless Earbuds
I picked these up yesterday to replace my XM4s. I wanted to try something different and wanted to maintain the ability to have multiple simultaneous connections. I'm using Comply foam tips just like I did with my XM4s. I knew the ANC wasn't going to be great but it is still disappointing. I'll...- moneypit

Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro X Anniversary model
I signed up for the preorder notification but, in a rare moment of self control, I didn’t buy them when they became available. Am I a new man or will I impulsively buy them later? Who knows…- moneypit

Audirvana & Apple Music
The Lossless Switcher is a little annoying as it doesn't change the rate until the song has already started playing which causes the audio to stop temporarily. At least that happens with my setup. I still use it as there is no other auto switcher available for Apple Music.- moneypit

MacBook Pro 2019 + USB DAC = heater
Yeah, my Lenovo did, too. I couldn't sit it on my lap without it burning me. And it sounded like a jet engine. Once I got my M1 MBP, its days were numbered.- moneypit

What's your computer audio set up?
My desktop setup is currently a Mac Studio playing Apple Music (with LosslessSwitcher and SoundSource running) via AQ Forest USB to an Ares II and then 12 feet of XLR to my Singxer SA-1 and Focal Clear OGs with 4-pin XLR Audiophile Ninja cables. Its not terribly fancy but I'm quite happy with...- moneypit

MacBook Pro 2019 + USB DAC = heater
I find this strange but are you also just sensitive to heat? My old Windows laptop ran an Intel chip basically its whole life at 100C with no issues. I wouldn't worry about it but looks like you found a solution that works for you.- moneypit

Focal Clear headphones
I'd say there is plenty of room to play there, at least with my setup.- moneypit

Focal Clear headphones
I don't consider myself a loud listener. 10-11 o'clock on low gain is about as loud as I go with the Clears without EQ. With Oratory1990 EQ settings, I'll go up to maybe 12 but I mostly listen without EQ. I only really turn it on to play with SoundSource but the 'magic' is gone when EQ is running.- moneypit

Focal Clear headphones
I received my balanced Audiophile Ninja cable for the OGs a week ago but was out of town until last night. I've been listening all day with the SA1 and I like it. I have Dekoni velour and fenestrated sheepskin pads sitting on my desk. I didn't like either of them as much as stock with the SE...- moneypit

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!
I could. Wearing this to decide if 36 is right for me which I think it is. I don’t like the Air King. I’m a gold watch guy and have always wanted a DD. Decided to get on the list in 2026. It will likely be my exit watch.- moneypit

Currently wearing a 36mm wannabe Explorer to decide if I want a real one or just skip right to a Day-Date. My wife hates gold watches, though. She doesn’t have to wear it.- moneypit

I've noticed cracking with my OGs but I'm fairly certain it is my neck, not the cans.- moneypit

Tube amps are beloved for the warmth they impart to a sound signature. However, if you are the type of listener who is heavily EQ-ing your headphones anyways, does this make tube amps redundant? Is there still a reason to use Tube Amps with EQ?
Your money is your own. Every situation is different and I can't tell you what to do... I wrote a lot more but deleted it. You can fill in the blanks.- moneypit
