Are these changes done in the hardware or software? If they are in software is there any way the V1 can recieve the update via a firmware update?

Hey everyone, Just received my pair of MTW100. I got the BA version. I only have one question regarding ambient mode. Whenever i activate it there is a slight hissing and crackling sound. It is noticable till 30% volume. Is this normal? Also the ambient mode favours high frequency sounds more...
