Schiit Gungnir DAC
Good info! I picked up an AKM DS Gungnir recently with a "C" serial (build date unknown) - seems they used the "C" serial for both initially then.- mjstealey

Schiit Gungnir DAC
I thought the AKM DS version serial started with a "C" ... - serial "C" - AKM DS - serial "06" - MB A1 rev - serial "B" - MB A2 rev - serial "L" - MB A2 rev w/o VXCO There are supposedly a few "06" serials with a silent MB A2 rev, and then something referred to as "bleached", but without...- mjstealey

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Fortune and luck are often the modest man's way of saying that he busted his hump every step of the way. Usually goes hand-in-hand with whole heartedly welcoming opportunity across the threshold whenever it comes knocking. Keep on keeping on Tom, you are an inspiration! Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
You'd be thrilled by the Yggy+ chassis design. Remove 4x screws and the top cover is released from the chassis, hinge it forward, disconnect the ribbon cable, and that's it! Now to peruse the various classifieds and see if I can snipe some LIM cards to play with :eyes:- mjstealey

Schiit Mjolnir 3 - Impressions Thread
Going to counter this by saying there is a rare opportunity right now to order the Yggy+ GS2 with Unison, and then add-on the MIB boards, for $50 less than the Yggy+ MIB by itself. This gives you the option to swap between the OG A1 boards as well as the MIB boards with not too much effort...- mjstealey

Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
OG A1 is indeed a formidable hunk of metal! Sounds like you've done your homework and all I can say is take your time on the card swap. Go slow, stay organized, and be ready for lots and lots of tiny screws. The newer Yggy+ chassis made this easier, but there are plenty of YT resources for how...- mjstealey

Damn fine looking resin/stabilzed Atrium you've got there! Listening to Folkvangr work it's magic on a pair of stabilized Maple Atrium's as I type this :)- mjstealey

Mod House Audio Tungsten - Planar Magnetic Headphones - Impressions and Discussion
Any idea how the Mimic Audio orders are handled in comparison to the Modhouse direct orders? I ordered through Mimic on Nov 11 during Dallas CanJam, but not a peep since then.- mjstealey

The graphic was sourced from SBAF and is based on the jargon that has been defined and used frequently over there. I lurk SBAF for information, but come to Head-Fi for information and, perhaps more importantly, socialization. The Head-Fi crowd is a bit more tolerant of the tongue-in-cheek...- mjstealey

ZMF Atrium - new open-back co-flagship
And that Caldera pads are Left and Right side specific. The pad contours both front to back and top to bottom. Having the seam at the bottom allows orientation without explicit markings. To my knowledge the rest of the ZMF pad lineup can be used on either side equivalently. Contours from front...- mjstealey
