Grado's GS-1000
"Head-Fi, where some people listen to frequency curves." (TM) On a more related note: Buy them. Amazing phones for that price. I think they are amazing for twice that amount.- Mindless

...so I made a leap of faith today
I bought my GS1000 without trying them first and I was blown away. To me they are in a completely different league compared to headphones such as HD650. But as blessingsx said - they are very picky with source material and amplification. With some recordings you may experience brightness, but...- Mindless

My friend owns a older model and he's very pleased with it. Personally though, I've never heard a NAD. Same thing can be said for the...- Mindless

Looking for a budget CD player...
My brother has the Pioneer PD-D6-J and it's a alright budget CD player. It sounds pretty good but the "budget"-part shines through a bit in my opinion, but I guess that's because my own CD player is fairly high-end.. Too much soundstage?
Quite the contrary for me - I can't listen to headphones with a narrow soundstage. It feels too narrow. Good soundstage makes the music live, lack thereof makes it sound artificial. To me, the whole point of headphones is to recreate the speaker experience (soundstage) but without disturbing...- Mindless
