Best Carbon Fibre Record Brush
Spoon, I'd get the Hunt. I have the AQ and it just doesn't do it for me. It tends to leave particles in the grooves that are hard to brush out. I think the Hunt actually picks up the debrie. md -

Cartridge for Dual 1229 turntable?
I have a Grado Red on my Dual 1246 and it sounds purty good. Compared to the old Sumiko I have on another TT, it's a bit thin. The Grado still sounded better than the Audio Technica it replaced. md- millerdog

Telefunken ECC803s 12AX7 closed for $305 on Ebay!
The ECC83 is NOT the same as the ECC803, do a search. Oh, and I've never heard one. md -
Strange results of AQ Sorbothane feet
I put a trio of Final Labs Daruma 3II isolation bearings under my TT and was surprised at the effects also. The soundstage almost reversed itself where the vocals were more upfront. Oh, I don't consider them isolation devices; I think they soak up excess vibration within the device to improve... -

Good Cheap Turntable?
Another suggestion if you are willing to wait. Fons CQ30 with a good tone arm. A CQ30 with a Grace 707 sold on Ebay a while back for only $145. I would suggest a Dual TT. Get one for less than a hun then upgrade the cart. It's a good beginners rig. I still use my 1246 in my second system...- millerdog

12AX7 tubes: rate your favourites!
Happy, you gotta pay the cost to be the boss! Remember also, that these tubes are not going to be around for long. I presently use Tele smoothies and GE 5 stars in my Fisher. I need a couple of RCA Commands and some other triple mica 5751s to finish up my stock. Get em while you can! md... -
Bookshelf Speakers
I just heard the Totems. If you got the right set up, they freaking rock. I mean, they do everything right. Not right for my SET amp, but they did a good job with a BAT 75w amp. Now I must live with my LothX BS1s. You get what you pay for! md -

12AX7 tubes: rate your favourites!
I thought this was a 12AX7 thread? 5751's are different animals. Tele 12AX7 smooth plates. For my money they rock! GE branded Westinghouse long plates are cool too. I got a pair of grey plates in my Fisher and they sound cool. You can also find some black plates in that configuration, but I... -
Ten reasons why you need an analog system
DM, let me clarify: I just think it's strange that while some complain about the noise on LPs, recording artists actually put that noise in to create the effect of playing vinyl. Luscious Jackson and the Sneaker Pimps come to mind. If you can listen to the cds without being bothered by the...- millerdog

Ten reasons why you need an analog system
To me, vinyl is for LISTENING. I have many doubles in my collection and if I just want background stuff I use the cd. If I want to listen, I mean really listen, I'll play the vinyl. Vinyl sometimes is able to retrieve more detail than my redbook cds. Depends on your set up. As far as the noise...- millerdog

Gun Forums
I think archos got the event correct and squirt got the sidearm correct. I remember reading something about the agent pulling the trigger even after the chambers were empty. The story is coming back to me in bits and parts. I think after the shootout the FBI saw the need for a hi capacity...- millerdog
