1/8'' vs. 1/4'' -- sound quality difference?
Thanks for the insight. Someone did read it. It is true that connections make a noticeable difference then. Higher quality adapters would make a better sounding rig. But i would say, if you can avoid it, just use 1/4'' plug at all times and dont adapt to 1/8'' plug. -

Why Vinyl sounds better than CD/DVD? here's why
I'd be careful saying the word "better". Vinyl sounds different than CD. No better. Just different.- MikeJ138

a dedicated cd player or computer cd-rom as a transport, what is better?
I agree. I own a Marantz 5001 and think it is a very good buy. I just run my headphones directly out of the built in amp/headphone jack. I may upgrade it later but it is fine for now. If you're listening to CDs, go for a full size deck. Also, you may be surprised at the SQ of vintage players...- MikeJ138

Best Music Player $500 or under?
I agree with pfillion. If you want best sound quality, play CD's in a CD player. If you dont have any CDs and all your stuff is digital, then I would stay away from portables all together. A few good components for your home PC will do just fine. What headphones are you using?- MikeJ138

Rate The Last Movie You Watched
Punisher: War Zone I thought this movie was very nicely done. A little comical at times because there was so much gore but definitely better than the 2004 offering. I was shocked how much I enjoyed it. And from a female director. She rocks!- MikeJ138

DarkVoice 336SE vs. Little Dot MK IV
First let me say that I know there are many threads similar to this one and I have read them all. Please don't tell me to @#$& off. thanks. I have narrowed it down between these two amps to purchase and am just wondering if anyone has compared the two side by side as far as sound quality...- MikeJ138

What to think about with vinyl
In regards to different versions, you must keep in mind which pressing you are buying or looking at. First pressing sound better. well, not necessarily better but more true to the original sound of the master recording. what happens is that the master tape the a band records onto in the studio... -
Best amp for HD650
Not sure what you are using for a source but you might consider using the internal amp of a CD deck. I use a Marantz CD5001 and just plug my 650's directly in and it powers them well. Have never had the need to turn it up past 40% of volume capacity. Just a thought.- MikeJ138

1/8'' vs. 1/4'' -- sound quality difference?
Hello all, Strange question. I am looking into buying a Little Dot MK I+ and was looking at some pics and I see that they have 1/8'' headphone outputs. Maybe it is just me but I prefer the 1/4'' plug output to my headphones. Just seems beefier and sturdier. Welcome to Audiophilechina...- MikeJ138

Sony Playstation SCPH-1001 one of the best cd players around?
I remember an old friend that used to turn his PS1 upside down because he had worn out the device that moves the laser back and forth and it created a buzzing. Try turning the unit upside down and see if that stops the noise.- MikeJ138

Sony Playstation SCPH-1001 one of the best cd players around?
I agree with both of you. Which is why I am using my PS-1 as a source. Great sound to me and I got it for free which is even better. This is a hobby of discovering and trial & error. This isn't a hobby of "Let's see who is richer" or "My audio system is more money than yours"......- MikeJ138
