Looking for a good rock/metal can
Yes. Those might be the droids you're looking for... Also +1 on all what monsterzero wrote. The Sextett's EP's Oh my oh my... I store them in steel safe with motion detectors surrounding them. When you say Schiit stack you mean the Magni/Modi? P.S.: Never been to keen on the beyers...- MichaelKnight

Help JBL LSR308 Gear Setup
Nope. But if you haven't bought the 2i2 yet, I'd suggest to take a look at the UR22 MKII. Feedback from friends that used both, report better drivers from Steinberg, and overall a better interface.- MichaelKnight

Good DAC pairing w/iFi Mirco iCAN SE amplifier?
I would say the Schiit Bitfrost. Are the 800's the non "S" version? I've had a go with this setup last week: Bitfrost>Darkvoice>HD800's (Non "S") And i can say the 800's sounded better than i remembered... i'm blaming the tubes- MichaelKnight

Best dac/amp for PS4
Take this with a grain of salt because rocket science and gaming are pretty much the same to me... But what about the Astro mixamp? According to their website, they output 100dB at 125Hz- MichaelKnight

Need Dac/amp for streaming, Android compatible.
The Fiio E18 or E12. That incompatibility thing with streaming services is stupidly weird to me...- MichaelKnight

Should I get an amp?
Small units, with similar purposes The Q1 as a rechargeable battery onboard. Is something that you would "attach" to your phone and carry it around. In fact, that's it's intended purpose. On the other hand, the E10K needs USB power (Either your desktop, or laptop for OTG) to work. Even though...- MichaelKnight

Some help with hypothetical desk setup
Thank you. The setup is complete. This was a birthday gift for a friend, she is quite pleased with it. For future reference, the Steinberg's UR22 is a pretty decent external soundcard, but, as expected, the headphone out doesn't have enough power to drive, for instance, my HD600's, or...- MichaelKnight

Help choosing an over-ear headphone at around USD $200
Apparently the Meze 99's are a really nice set of cans, but never tried them so... Know, for music listening, from your list, my pick would be the 598's, open cans, not bass heavy though. For bass, maybe take a look at the M50x's For DJing, i would recommend closed cans only, the...- MichaelKnight

Help needed in Deciding which Headphones and amp to buy
The 559's are open back cans. They wouldn't work very well in the field... For sound monitoring i would recommend something more neutral/flat. I'm sure there are, but haven't tried anything within your price range that i would consider a very good, neutral can that i can recommend, sorry... ...- MichaelKnight

DAP or DAC+AMP
There are DAP's that support Spotify. But bare in mind that Spotify's extreme quality is .mp3 @ 320Kbps for premium subscribers. Having said that, and if Spotify is your go to "music source/library" in my opinion, you would be better of with a Amp/Dac. Something like the Fiio E18 for...- MichaelKnight

hyper x Cloud 2 sound signature
The M50X's would sound good for the type of music you mentioned. I personally prefer the 40's. But are you sure you wanna go closed cans?- MichaelKnight

Some help with hypothetical desk setup
Thank you. I am aware of that and i also have a Bal/Unbal adapter somewhere that i bought a few yeas ago. All the other equipment i mentioned, i tested/tried except for the UR22, so my real issue would be with it's headphone out. If it sucks, i would like to bypass it and use the Magni...- MichaelKnight
