Schiit Folkvangr - Impressions Thread
Yeah, same here. I was equal parts 1) novelty/tube coolness/limited production AND 2) sound quality/performance in making my decision to pull the trigger.- mhanism1

Schiit Folkvangr - Impressions Thread
I'd also be curious how FV would play with Meze Empyreans or Elite's. They're planar but also pretty low impedance and efficient at 32 ohms. I have the MJ2 + Gumby stack and sounds pretty phenomenal.- mhanism1

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Yes - seems like the URD will have both unison usb inputs and outputs. And since the Yggy doesn’t have remote control, thinking it’d be a good extension/combo with the Yggy. I’ve been very impressed with Unison as USB has come a very long way over the past decade for audio transmission.- mhanism1

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I also have an Audiolab 6000cdt and it's been an absolute bargain component. I feed it into a Yggy LIM via digital coaxial and it sounds great. I find the spaciousness + detailed separation that it brings out of my CD playback is very impressive. That said, I would be curious what an upgrade...- mhanism1

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Re: Freya S - I doubt it. I believe Jason noted somewhere here or on a livestream that the S only came back as more cases + parts became available, but may not be around for long. Not sure about the Vidar, the site says 6-8 weeks which should be a good estimate.- mhanism1

Yggdrasil "flavors"
Thanks again for the feedback - I think I’ll save my pennies for the Yggy LiM; but for now will use the Bifrost, which sounds pretty darn good for it’s size and price point. How do you like the Amperex 7308’s? Looking into better tube options out there to see if I can improve things a bit. What...- mhanism1

Yggdrasil "flavors"
Very cool! I have a newer Bifrost 2 as well in my Lyr3/Jot2 stack, and I pulled it out to try with my Mjolnir 2 and I’ve really liked the sound signature and performance of the Bifrost. But I feel there’s room for improvement moving up the Schiit ladder. I’m running the Mjolnir with the...- mhanism1

Yggdrasil "flavors"
Hello - curious if you had any further observations? I was looking into a Gungnir MB to mate with a c-stock Mjolnir 2 I nabbed off the Schiit site, but started reading into the Yggdrasil flavors. I’d agree the LiM variant appeals most to be based on the early reviews but wondering how much...- mhanism1
