Nice to know, but JDS DACs don't appear to be DSD, the raison d'être of the D30.

Hard to imagine counterfeiting a piece that sells at counterfeit prices. Why not hook up optical output from TV or Blu-ray player and see if that is reproduced correctly. You might remove the case and compare it to images online if still in doubt.

The sound I care about is classical and jazz which also make great test material. Audiophiles and probably headphiles love to describe sound in tonal balance. This of course is not a great idea since all of these devices likely measure flat. My pet peeve especially if then said phile thinks you...
