SHURE CUTS THE CORD: RMCE-TW1 / TW2 - THE TRUE WIRELESS THREAD
How much space is there in the case? Would CIEMs or larger sets like the IER-Z1R fit? Thanks for your help.- McMadface

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova
It's micro USB. The software is a lag-free version of Android, meaning that you can side load streaming apps, and it plays just about any format you want to throw at it. It's on the smallish side and doesn't have the best battery life, around 4 hours, but I haven't really run the battery down...- McMadface

Campfire Audio - Introducing 2 new models Hello Andromeda and Nova
A&K SR15 sounds great with the Andro. Black background, unlike a lot of other DAPs.- McMadface

SONY IER-Z1R
Eh. The Z1R has an efficiency of 103 dB/mW. On the ADI-2 DAC it gets to 80 dB when the volume control is at -22 dB through the IEM output. Some would argue that there isn't enough headroom to play music with high dynamic range without hitting distortion. So, in those cases, you could say the Z1R...- McMadface

crinacle's IEM Ranking List
If the Z1R doesn't have enough bass for you, then the Solaris definitely won't have enough as it has less. Trio has about the same as the Z1R, and is a great IEM, but I think the Z1R has smoother treble. If you want more DD bass in a great IEM, you should take a look at a used Legend X.- McMadface

ALO does not make their own cables. They buy from a Chinese OEM. They don't have the equipment to do the plastic molding on the MMCX connectors. Just try asking them for a custom length and they'll tell you they can't do it because it's made in China. However, whomever the OEM is, they do a...- McMadface

New Audio Technica IEM and portable headphone coming in October
I got to listen to the AWKT, AWAS, and WP900 today at CES. The AWAS was my favorite of the 3 in terms of tuning. It sounded similar to the ADX5000 but with more bass. It's hard to listen for technicalities in a loud show, so can't speak to that between the AWKT and AWAS, but both sounded more...- McMadface

I have 2 Skeletools. They are the best. You should just buy one. You really don't need all those little saws, hooks, files, corkscrews, and other useless tools that come with the deluxe models.- McMadface

I did the same thing and picked up the Silver Litz and the SXC8 during the sale. I also made the mistake of putting the Silver Litz on the Z1R. The connector is so small that it's really difficult to grab the connector to take it out. Don't panic. Just keep wiggling it back and forth while...- McMadface

QDC - Discussion and Impressions Thread
I'm pretty sure that as long as both sides are in phase, polarity doesn't matter. We're talking about sound waves that vibrate at up to 20,000 Hz. I don't think our ears/brains care whether that first part of that wave is up or down -- transducer in or out. But when they're mismatched and out of...- McMadface
