The utopia is said to have a small stage, but that stage can actually get pretty big with certain gear, especially nicer tube amps with high end tubes.

Years later but for anyone seeing the thread now, Full Music tubes are better than the gold lions, which seem to be the standard here in the US for whatever reason, probably cuz upscale pushes them so much. Sophia Electric blue glass tubes are better than the Full Musics though.

Yeah that is probably true. Would also depend on what someone wants out of a dac, MQA or not, etc.

It's pretty impressive that the utopia is still such a well done headphone even many years after it's release. A quality tube amp with it sounds wonderful with just about all music genres.

This is probably the best dac for under $1000, and quite good even compared to the best dacs under $2000. Pretty crazy that it's been on sale for $580.. If you're in the market for a dac under $2000, you may want to get this, and spend the rest of the money on better cables.
