Panic Report.   I see that the dircache PANIC was addressed. I keep getting a panic in a different scenario. It seems related to automatic frequency selection across two sd cards.   In case others have ran into to this , here are the steps.     STEPS To reproduce...

Thanks for the dedication. Will you be merging your git hub repository, with all of these changes? My personal code on my laptop is falling behind :( Thanks

Youre welcome. Unfortunately I didn't mess around with another voice until this week. The voices at "Speech at CMU"  (Caregie Mellon University speech research site) all sound a bit better than the default 'kal' voice thats used by default in Flite.   As far as the voice file, it seems to...

Hi there,   I have worked out getting an alternate voice that might sound better. Its a female voice, sounds a bit more natural. See if it works.

I'm going to read through the post you;ve mentioned and see if it makes any sense. I too am "Just IT Admin/DevOps". If you need some task automated and scripted, or if you need me to find a bug in a web server application, I'm your man. A proper useful program from scratch? I do that on...

Is there a git location for the code? I like to re-compile on my own, so I have the back and option buttons swapped (mirroring the functionality of the OEM firmware), and test ther things.   Thanks,

I played with both files (english.voice and english_us.voice), and the sound exactly the same,.. kind of pseudo american/british.   Attached is english.voice. It goes in your SD cards .rockbox/lang/ folder.   It will correspond to you selecting English as your language.

Hi there, The .voice file needs to be compiled for the proper hardware target. In this case, it would be for the Xduoo X3  (Ingenic jz4760 chip) What language do you want to try? . I can compile and attach a .voice file for you, that you would place in the .rockbox/langs/folder .   The...

HI there, The make voice is done in the command line on your computer, not on the device itself. You would then copy the voice file off to the device.   BTW, I did get the voice working fully on my system about a month ago, but I wasnt exactly sure as to which combination of changes I used to...

I think most people use Hifi. The default rockbox ones work well. So far I lik Hifi the best. I play around with Sansa fuze themes too, they are mostly compatible. I switch between Hifi , canbiev2, pacman. Some themes work better than others.

The battery life drains quite quickly for me when I'm tinkering with setting, and the screen is lit quite a bit, which makes sense. In the code rockbox shuts down when the system detects 3300 mv. The battery is the same capacity and voltage of my iPod photo. That lasts double the length, due to...

    Rockbox Xduoo X3

I have been running it with 2000mah, im not sure that I noticed much difference.   Something is not correct in measurement of the capacity, because  after rockbox shutdown due to "empty battery",  I could still boot up with the stock firmware and use it.     (I backed out any change on...
