Yeah, I thought about that. Really the only thing the Xonar Essence is being used for is my microphone. I could actually give it to my brother since he doesn't have a nice audio setup.

Yeah, I might end up just getting an exchange pair and hopefully the new pair doesn't have the same issues. I also get the notorious X2 earpad ink bleed as well.

Before I do return it, I should note it is a physical thing somewhere on the headphone, as in the headphone itself and not audio coming from the headphone. Like a metal creaking noise. I don't know if it is worth returning over that as the headphones musically sound great.
