    Best headphones for sub $150

So if the e10k isn't powerful enough is there perhaps a similarly priced amp that can power the 990's?

    Best headphones for sub $150

So how about these? They are selling refurbished Beyerdynamic DT990 250 ohm for $130. I've heard that Beyerdynamics are pretty good for EDM. Any thoughts? Also I realize that they would probably need more than my on board audio to drive them so would the fiio e10k drive these ok? I also had my...

    Best headphones for sub $150

I've seen some people selling audio technica ath ad900x for $100 even. Would those be good for what I'm looking for? If so is there anything else I should get to drive them?

    Best headphones for sub $150

The brainwavz match the price perfectly, but the more and more I read about them the more they start to sound less ideal.  A "soulless" headphone sounds almost like the exact opposite of what I'd want. I understand that for such a low price range I shouldn't expect even close to perfection, and...

    Best headphones for sub $150

Of all the cans listed the Fidelio's are starting to look more and more like the best option. So these compared akg q701 or the k550 which seems like they fit my taste the best?

    Best headphones for sub $150

Well if I don't have the e10 they will be going off of my on board audio and Idk if that is powerful enough to drive them

    Best headphones for sub $150

The Fidelio looks really classy and sounds like the bass would be of better quality and also sounds like they would be more fun to listen to than the hm5. Is there anyway to get them for cheaper for $135? Because I really want the e10 along with whatever headset I decide to get. Also do they...

    Best headphones for sub $150

I've heard that they can sound kind of lifeless but at the same time I can't think of a better headphone to get for about that price range. Is there any cheap modding I can do to them to perhaps make them sound better and or add more bass? Or should I just look to a new set of cans entirely?

[Review] Brainwavz HM5, A New Neutral Champ

So I'm absolutely in love with the hm5 and I think they would look even better with wooden cups. Anybody know of a place I can buy just the wooden cup shells for cheap?

    Best headphones for sub $150

I think I'll go with the 72 dollar versions of the HM5's and grab a Fiio e10k. Both would be about 150. I also saw somebody modify fischer adui fa003's to appear to be wooden. Could I customize the HM5's like that? If so how much would it cost? The headphones look nice already but the wood is an...

    Best headphones for sub $150

So I think I'm going to get the Fiio e10k with these which are the same thing as the Brainwavs HM5's but they're only $60. Total is $135. In my exploration I have found out about the fischer audio fa03 and I saw somebody somehow make them look like they were wooden. Would it be possible to mod...

    Best headphones for sub $150

So the Brainwavz sound just about perfect for what I was asking for and they match the price perfectly. With those I will be able to get a DAC for sure. Any good recommendations? Obviously the cheaper the better but I will be willing to spend 80 give or take.

Also what about these? they seem to be about what I'm looking for and I can spend probably an extra 50 ish dollars on a dac or sound card

    Best headphones for sub $150

How much better are the M50x's than the originals? Also how good is the brainwav headset, and if I only spent 70 dollars on it like you said what other components should I get to get the most sound out of them. I was also considering the UE 6000 but their higher end blue tooth model is way more...

    Best headphones for sub $150

It is a desktop set up and yeah when I saw the price tag on the q701's I was thinking they were a bit out of price range. From what I'm getting from this its either the Fidelio L1, Brainwav hm5 or the UE 6000. Any opinions on which of the three sound the best?
