thanks. is the firmware for the d3020? is it for mac/apple?

say, i have the 3020, is there some FW upgrade available for Mac? i don't see anything anywhere for Mac/apple. do i have to rent a pc? (joke)   by the way, according to the flash, i have v2.5 right now   thanks folks

i have no idea.  my ears can't tell the difference. however, the sound was better and the "upconversion" (bit rates, whatever) was higher through usb (it worked for 5 minutes) on this denon pma-50 (i am currently demo-ing.)     i might post some impressions on the entire range of desktop gear...

i have that same gear and the same exact issue,  i have also recently been testing a denon pma-50 and the usb is silent.  my old and incredible aune x1 dac however was recognized and works fine through usb.  for now i've  switched to optical on everything

you CAN run active speakers.  the bose speakers have their own power,  although they will have a little plug meant to go directly into the pc.   if you want something cheaper: dacs with excellent headphone amps and very small form factor check out the AUNE X1 ($200) and AUDIO ENGINE D1 ($169)...

question for anyone regarding these nad d amps:   the d 3020 is rated at 30w at 8ohms, the larger d 7050 is rated at 50w at 4ohms.  does that not mean comparatively the d 7050 is actually less powerful at (25w at 8ohms)  or am i missing something?

i have a tiny head and i find the clamp to be significant, but not too much.  for example ath m50s = head crushers, m audio q40's = vice grips, d2000 = loosely perfect, d600 = tighter, perfect -1   i think you may have gotten a worked over, stretched out DEMO pair experience.  think about...

looks like this thread is dead. so to say goodbye.....one last thing - i have changed my somewhat harsh original opinion on these headphones (d600).   they are comfy they have an enjoyable thump (a bit rougher and tougher than the d2000) i guess they are a bit dark, like myself i even...
