Well, all I can say is that I am glad for a second shot at these cans. I missed out the first go around because of a deployment to Iraq.   Long time member and lurker who doesn't post all that much. 

  I would be all over a feasible steampunk style quality amp.    Maybe I need to take a brass metalworking class.

Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA is all I use for my airhead. The E2 is alkaline which is normally respectable but you should get better mileage out of any lithium battery. Rechargeables drive me up the wall.
