Laiv Harmony µDAC, Discrete Balanced R-2R DAC

What a great review and those comparisons are invaluable. I didn't know this guy but he does a fantastic job.

Well as you can see I not very technically versed!

MHDT Labs: R-2R NOS Tube DACs

If the Orchid had a more "pro" built casing and was from a better known company it would probably sell for 1.5 it's price. I love mine also and the only one that would make me change it is the LTA Aero which is a similar concept (NOS and tube) but most probably quite a good notch above in...

Laiv Harmony µDAC, Discrete Balanced R-2R DAC

Isn't a bit unfair to compare the LAIV to a DAC that is 3 times the price? I have to admit that I'll be curious to read it though!

LTA Aero Dac. Linear Tube Audio’s first-ever digital-to-analog converter, world’s first DAC using ZOTL technology. Reviews in the Thread.

You are very lucky, I'm lusting on the Aero but really can't afford this price point. I'll have to wait a long while until maybe someone is lets go of one at an irresistible price! What amp are you using with this jewel and which DAC does it replace?

    iFi Audio presents iDSD Valkyrie

This new DAC/Amp is really nice. I have the iDSD Signature Finale that I use as DAC only to a tube amp for a few years now and I still love it. Those Burr-Brown chips are usually my cup of tea. The Valkyrie has 4 of those BB so wonder if it sounds 4 times better than my old Finale! hahaha...

What lush, warm, euphoric, organic sounding DACs are there out there?

I'm a real sucker for lush, analog, non fatiguing sounding pieces of equipment. I have an MHDT Orchid for many years now and with the right tube it definitely fits the original posters wishes. When I have the money, I'll upgrade to the LTA Aero which I believe will be my endgame DAC for many...

MHDT Labs: R-2R NOS Tube DACs

I beat you, I have the original Paradisea since MHDT started making DACs! Of course I eventually bought the Orchid but the Paradisea is still in use for a secondary system with background music that sounds great. :beerchug:

Ibasso 1 bit Discrete portable DAC with Resistors Array D16

Wow, what a stack, amazing. If iBasso continues to come up with such great transportable devices you'll need a rack to hold them all  Thanks a lot for the good feedback. I see myself more into the D16 camp than the 340 based on your qualifiers, after all I'm an old guy so the...

Ibasso 1 bit Discrete portable DAC with Resistors Array D16

Wow, very nice comparison, thanks for the feedback. Have you tried DX340 with PB5 versus having D16 in the middle just to see if DX340 DAC sounds identical to D16 DAC?

Ibasso 1 bit Discrete portable DAC with Resistors Array D16

This is somewhat a compliment, Hugo is a more expensive DAC than D16 and well praised even if a bit older.

    Woo Audio WA-8

It does recognize my iPhone via usband I don’t see why it wouldn’t an Android dap whatever the version. Although you might end up using your DAPs dac with line out instead of USB because the WA8 internal dac is ok but nothing special. The WA8 strong point is it incredible tube amp section.

LAiV Harmony R2R DAC Impression and Reviews

Ho sh...t! I think I had a moment of absence yesterday! hahaha I was mixed up reading different threads and ended up posting in the Laiv instead of the Onyx! Good thing you spotted it.

LAiV Harmony R2R DAC Impression and Reviews

Hello, anyone compared the LAIV to iBasso D16? I'd be interested by your feedback. Thanks.

    Woo Audio WA8 Review - Head-Fi TV

I personally use a iFi iDSD Signature as DAC to feed my WA8. I find the sound much better then using the WA8 internal DAC, and I am one who loves the "tubey" sound. The iDSD uses a Burr Brown chip DAC with a NOS function which I find provides a much less digital sounding performance compared...
