Tube Amp for Sennheiser HD 598
I only have the motherboard audio out on my computer or the udac amp. I would prefer to use the udac as the dac and get a tube amp to drive the phones.- livetaswim

Tube Amp for Sennheiser HD 598
Why would you recommend that? Everything I have seen has said the HD 598 is a pretty decent can, and especially that is is very comfortable which is important to me as I couldn't wear the Shure SRH840 for more than 30 minutes without pain. I have seen the HiFiman HE 400s recommended, but...- livetaswim

Tube Amp for Sennheiser HD 598
While that is certainly a solution to one of the problems, do you have any recommendations on a good tube amp to pair with this headphone?- livetaswim

Tube Amp for Sennheiser HD 598
I have been on Head-Fi for some time and based my first purchase (Shure srh840) from recommendations. I also purchased the amp/dac, Nuforce uDac, based on recommendations to pair with my Shure's. Recently I added the open air Sennheiser 598s to my collection and I need to get an amp that works...- livetaswim

Amps for computer listeneing??
The computer audio forum is more for full size speaker advice. Try browsing the portable headphone amp forum and you should be able to find something to your liking. The Fiio E7 amp is generally very well reviewed and it is currently on sale on amazon. In fact you can get the amp and a digital...- livetaswim

Need new 2.0 or 2.1 system for ~200-300 USD
I debated it and decided to go with a passive setup. I found a Pioneer VSX-D711 amp for $60 on craigslist and Polk Audio Monitor Series II, the newegg exclusive model, for $150 for the pair. The reviews seem to say that they are good bang for the buck, but I am a little hesitant since I do not...- livetaswim

Need new 2.0 or 2.1 system for ~200-300 USD
I currently have a Logitech z2300 2.1 system running from a uDac, but the built in amp on the z2300 broke so now I only have one channel working.I generally listen to music in 2 ways. If I want high quality I use my Shure SRH840, everything just sounds so much better through these. If I want...- livetaswim

Headphone recommendation
I looked at the Grado HF 2 and am a little skittish buying headphones that are reviewed by many as being uncomfortable. As for the Grado W1000X, I want to buy a pair so that it would be easy to return, something like headroom's 30 day return policy.- livetaswim

Headphone recommendation
I have been searching and reading reviews for days and I can't seem to find the perfect headphone to buy, so I am going to the head-fi community for help. Headphone history: I started my higher-end headphone buying with a pair of Shure SCL2s. They weren't bad, but comfort was lacking and...- livetaswim

SRH840 impression
I have owned the srh840s since this past summer. While I love the sound, the things are so heavy that they create a pressure point on the top of my head. I have a pair of wireless Sonys hooked up to a TV and they are really light albeit with poor sound, but at least they never create a painful...- livetaswim

To Upgrade iPod or not
So I was a lurker here for a little while and finally bought some Shure SE530's and now my iPod Touch (2G) 16gb just doesn't sound as good since I can hear hiss and some imperfections. I use the itunes plus mp3's exclusively and they sound better from my cheapo computer than iPod. I have two...- livetaswim
