Is this "Silver Wire"?
That's probably tin coated copper. No better than uncoated copper, but it costs more and looks different.- listening

moving to arizona...advice/help from AZ h-fiers?
I lived there from 1995 to 2005. In 1995 it was nice. Housing was cheap, traffic wasn't bad, cost of living was reasonable. I worked at Rockford Fosgate in Tempe. Tens years later a lot had changed. Metro Phoenix population went from 2 million to 3.5 million people. The population increase...- listening

What do you do for a living/money?
I'm a director of sales for an electronics company. The best part is I get to work from home when I'm not on the road. Which means lots of listening opportunities.- listening

150 mph + in Germany in a diesel Audi. Amazed me at the time, about 8 years ago. 140 mph + in a 330i here in the US (Arizona), very early in the morning with no traffic around. New Honda S2000 sitting in the garage waiting for the snow to melt....??? mph?- listening

I use the iPower 500 mAH batteries with the switches on the Portaphile as follows: - Class A on - Wide Bandwidth off - Gain on high - LED on I get quite acceptable battery life. I haven't timed it but it must be at least 7-8 hours. This is running mostly ER4P when I travel. I have...- listening

Good stuff all. Thanks. I've been an audio nut for a long time, but have been a bit disconnected for the last few years. I'm now enjoying music all over again. Upgrades WILL come, but hopefully at a speed that doesn't make my wallet go into shock. Now about that tube amp.....- listening

Iriver IHP120 sound quality - wow.
Hi greenhorn, I've had an iRiver HP-120 for 3 years and love it. Sounds great with my Ety4P. However, about 2 weeks ago I purchased a Portaphile v2^2 maxxed as I was in search of "a little more". It made a huge difference in my mind. I do like to listen at fairly high volumes, and the amp...- listening
