I am totally with you there. When listening to Tyrs driving LS50s, the Tyr COMMANDS the LS50 to do their biddings and the LS50 never had a second word.

And we have the passive mode, which is something I haven't given as much time to yet myself. It sounded to me that if 1x is a light bulb at full brightness, then the passive mode is a much turned down light bulb suitable for a night light.

I use Kara with a pair of Tyrs. 1x and 4x selected depending on my mood. 1x is Laird back and fluid, often great when I'd like to relax or just have the music on as BGM. 4x brings on more excitement and impact, it works well when I want to be more immersed in music or TV/Movie.

I'd highly recommend to just save up for Tyrs, you won't regret it.

Well it's there all the time, switching back and forth is so easy. The only gripe I have is that the dent on the volume knob is invisible for a guy my age sitting 2 meters away. I need to add some appendage to the knob to make it more visible.

To me the 1x is more polite and less up front, I can't say it's my cup of tea.

Interesting that you have both Mj3 and Tyr, how would you compare their characteristics? Are they closer in terms of dynamics, power and timbre?

I finally pulled the trigger on Tyrs, 2 of them of course. Bought them in the US while on a biz trip and then moved them home as checked baggages. Luckily for me, 22kgs per box is slightly under the overweight threshold (did you guys do this on purpose or was that just coincidence?). Got home...

I bought a Freya S when when visiting Schittr a few years back and had been happy ever since. With Kara out it is very tempting to make the trip again. I'd like to name it 'Starbuck' if I were to buy one this time.

@Jason Stoddard would you guys consider updating the Unison module for Yggdrasil to UDB-C? It's pretty easy to get good quality USB-C to C cables nowadays.
