Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Tyr being the one-armed god of war, is this the mono-only big power amp that had been teased before?

Actually you can order the A2 firmware from Schiit and install it in your A1 to make it a GS. I highly recommend doing this as you can compare between the difrerent firmwares. I really like the new firmware (thus, GS) compared to the original on my A1.

If by tweaking a resistor you get different levels of tube-ness, how possible would it be to offer a switch that cycles through different resistor value to tone the tube-ness?

Having a custom USB implementation would mean that when receiving data front the USB interface, Schiit can just do whatever they want with the output, ideally converting it directly to BWD(bit clock, word clock, data) that the DAC chip can receive, all without going through the...

I was caught a bit by surprise when I setup the new Freya S to replace the Jotunheim. At high gain, Freya S at 12:00 give me decent volume, when a low gain Jotunheim (closer to the Freya S gain) is usually set at 9:30 to 10:00

From https://www.head-fi.org/threads/what-a-long-strange-trip-its-been-robert-hunter.784471/page-428#post-13982140 he definitely indicated that there is another fix besides the glitch that improves linearity (whatever that means).

Yeap, this is beneficial that you can even make multiple tracks using different settings on the Gadget to show the effect. Of course if one goes the hardcore way to install the whole thing in a car, one still needs a computer (RPI?) To receive the output from Jil and then play it back to a DAC...

Wild idea: A EITR+ that accepts an RPi as an add-on board via GPIO headers. It can power the RPi via GPIO and receives I2S from the RPI. Customize whatever you like on the RPi OS.

I am actually looking at the Asus Tinkerboard as an alternative to the RPi I own, given that recently Hifiberry confirmed that their product can work on the Tinkerboard. Even with Tinkerboard alone, having separate buses between USB/Network is a big plus compared to the RPi. And I personally...
