QDC - Discussion and Impressions Thread
Yes it would depend on where the difference is. However, Id never describe it as a big difference. Especially when there are narrow ranges of boosts or dips of that degree at random places. I doubt people with normal hearing can tell the difference right away.- Kuwan

Yep. They'll tell you exactly the same thing if you ask QDC themselves. Crinacle's measurements of the 8sh and Gemini show slight differences, but the differences are within a decibel or two. They should sound almost identical unless you have VERY well trained ears.- Kuwan

"air around the vocals" that is the perfect description of how the vocals sound. Felt exactly the same way. I personally prefer the stock white silicone tips. They seem like the only ones without treble loss.- Kuwan

crinacle's IEM Ranking List
Omg! The gemini finally made it on the list ! S tier seems about right. I wonder if you think the 8 series is any different from the gemini sound quality wise.- Kuwan

Switch down should be equal to the 8sl version and up the 8sh version. I think they made 3 versions of 8's with just bass respose tuned differently.- Kuwan

Recommend me a TOTL IEM that is similar to my HD 800 S?
10k+ is definitely a no-guarantee-zone, however huge rolloffs are able to be detected pretty effectively especially close to the 10k range- Kuwan

Looks to me like you're looking for something that can extend up to 10khz and above. SE846 and the Vega both have a massive roll-off around the 10khz range, which means they are cutting off a lot of treble notes, thus making the treble sound less detailed. Both the Katana and Andromeda are...- Kuwan

Shure SE846 Impressions Thread
The biggest problem for me with the se846 was the Bass occasionally bleeding into the mids and anything above 10khz being cut-off and inaudible. Mids were quite pleasant and resolving though.- Kuwan

Haven't heard the Viento personally. However, I do know most Nt6 and Pro users here in Korea have moved on to the Viento because of the very reasons you said.- Kuwan

QDC - Discussion and Impressions Thread
I have a Effect Audio Thor 2, but I haven't used it on my qdc yet because I have heard the qdc iems do not support the ciem standard 2 pin connectors. The diameter of the plugs are a tad bit smaller and the polarity is reversed as well on qdc iems. So right now, I'm trying to contact Effect...- Kuwan

http://cafe.naver.com/realsounds/35743 Here is the measurement for the 8SH from a Korean website. It supposedly has the same frequency response as the Gemini with bass switched off. Not sure if it is true, but sounded very similar when I tried it out.- Kuwan

Got myself a pair of Gemini with the clock art. Looks amazing! but sound is also very good. It seems like the main theme for the Gemini is balance and absolute clarity. First of all, this iem is very well balanced, thus making it good for all genres of music. Not to mention that it has a switch...- Kuwan
