Yes, there is a steep drop off in audio quality when piggy-backing on the PS5 controller's wireless signal. If audio quality is a priority, you will want the dedicated wireless signal or to be wired directly to the console.

I used to use these with my Xbox One X. Connect via optical and use bluetooth for comms. I always used either the Xbox app or Discord app, outside of the standard bluetooth compression on the comms, it worked fine, audio sounded great.

For anyone that has received theirs. How has battery life been? I used to only get between 7-8 hours on my Mobius, which was a bit disappointing and led me to return them after a couple months. I was using them wired to an Xbox One/PS4 controller, not sure if that caused increased drain that way.

My original order, for the Penrose, was on July 15th. I changed the order to the Penrose X on October 15th. FedEx doesn’t tell me the service it was shipped with. And Audeze hasn’t even sent a shipping confirmation yet, which would hopefully clear up which product they shipped.

True, the Audeze webpage does also mention support for Nintendo Switch and phone operating systems, but doesn't also mention which model those apply to in the "Penrose... For" section. I'm not sure why they would be deliberately vague, but that's just my take. We'll know soon enough.
