Does it sound like the driver buzzing, or maybe a ringing sound? I would listen to a frequency sweep and see if it is caused by bass.

Can you give more details about the rattling? Like how it sounds and what side. It might be the glue issue.

No wonder mine was in such a rough condition when I bought it (1030).

I took Heinz's advice and bought the glue and tried it. The glue, without doubt, is the solution. I haven't been able to 100% get rid of the low bass buzz, but something like 90%. I'm sure if I was better at putting the glue, it could be completely fixed.

I didn't use shrink wrap for the K1000. The pink bars I spray painted with white vinyl dye and the black grills I had powder coated black.

I don't have the pigtail adapter to try.

I'm currently using an Asgard 1, which puts 1 watt I believe. It sounds great to me, but I'll try it on other amps at the LA meet next week. I had my friend use them at the SF meet and he said they were amazing out of the Liquid Gold and Mjolnir, which I think put out around 8 watts.

I have a black K1000 (#01030), K701 with 65th anniversary pads, and a K550. I can't get enough of the K1000.

The meet looks like it was fun! I couldn't go, but I hope people enjoyed the K1000 I sent over there (even though it currently has the bass buzzing issue).
