Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!

You're on the right track! I had been looking at Hamilton already. Nice watches but too similar to my Seiko to make me consider spending 8x the price. However I really like that Victorinox and I hadn't come across it before. That's definitely going down in the short list. Thank you cel :)

Watches - another passion of ours, it seems...post your pics!

Thank you both for your suggestions! I like the look of Ball Watch's offerings. Nomos is too pricey for me.   cel4145: I'm looking for casual/military-ish (not sure if there's a better word to describe it - I like my Seiko SNK809's design for example), for less than $1000 (I could...

Does anyone have any recommendations for small diameter automatics? I currently have a Seiko 5 which has a 37mm case which is about right for my wrist.

What Headphone and Amp are you listening to right now?

Lyr burning some '67 Amperex Orange Globes with a T1, listening to Stan Rogers. The orange globes warm up the T1 rather nicely. Heaven!

Fostex TH900 Impressions & Discussion Thread

Was taking some photos of my TH900s today to sell them. The finish on these things is still one of the finest on any consumer product I've ever seen. The finish is strikingly beautiful and has great depth. It glitters subtly in intense red colors.

Looking for a USB powered DAC+Amp with Microphone in

Hi guys,   I'm looking for a USB powered USB DAC+Amp combo with microphone in. This is for gaming and general computer use.   Anyone have any good suggestions? Currently I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi ( http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-System-Preamp/dp/B004275EO4/ )...

    Schiit Lyr Tube Rollers

Hey tube gurus,   I've tried a pair of '67 Amperex Orange Globes which sound pretty nice (although too warm and not detailed enough for some headphones), but I'm also looking for some good transparent/neutral tubes to replace the OEMs. Any suggestions or should I get another pair of 6BZ7 from...

    Lyr making strange noise

So I got new interconnects yesterday and that appears to have solved the crackling and dropping out. Phew!   The metallic noise remains, but after a week with the Lyr, I've decided this is merely a by product of it warming up, and I don't hear it much after the first few minutes.   Very...

    NEW Schiit Lyr 2: Impressions

My Lyr 1 was delivered literally 2 weeks ago. I'm a bit gutted about the timing!   That said, the Lyr 1 is still incredible - so I'm not planning on upgrading.   Main changes seem to be a gain switch and some reworking of the power systems for lower noise floor.

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...

Ha, indeed you are right. However my desk setup is all black + silver at the moment, so perhaps it could use an injection of zebrawood to liven things up a bit.

Quite happy with this silver trio. Next stop is an LCD-3 I think - gotta get me some of that planar love.

Yes - it uses USB Audio Class 1 which is supported natively by Windows/OSX and any sane version of Linux :)

Pen-Fi (FPs, RBs, BPs, etc...) [56k Warning]

Thanks for your insight. I think you are right - when writing on my notepad, I don't have any troubles. It was only when using scraps of printer paper to scrawl some notes down that I was having problems. I'll use my notebook paper in future.
