I picked up one of these in Singapore on Sunday. Manufacture date was 2014-04 and it was running the older software.. As soon as I connected it to WiFi it said that the update was available. No big deal..

Got a set flying their way to Australia with FedEx. Will compare them to my old W3's (from the first release) and my Shure SE535LTD's (red). Not expecting a difference in sound between old and Gold W3, but new cable and vault case will be nice updates.

I'm wondering if it's worth spending the extra for the Icon HDP over the D1 to drive a set of Audioengine 5+ and/or Beyer DT990s fed by my MacBook Pro. Anyone have any thoughts??   I suspect it'll be swings and roundabouts, the HDP may be a slightly better performer, but the D1 can be bus...
